Cesar Ramos: Released by Dodgers
The Dodgers released Ramos Saturday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Ramos signed a minor-league contract with Los Angeles in February but did not see the start of the minor-league season. The 33-year-old hasn't seen major-league action since posting a 6.04 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over 47.2 innings with the Rangers in 2016.

Ramos agreed to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Friday, Chris Cotillo of SB Nation reports.
Ramos didn't appear in any major-league games last season, instead spending the entire campaign with Triple-A Lehigh Valley within the Phillies' system. He posted a 4.00 ERA and 1.32 WHIP with a 74:31 K:BB in 92.1 innings of work split between the rotation and bullpen, and should provide extra organizational depth for Los Angeles this year.

Phillies' Cesar Ramos: Headed to minors
Ramos was informed that he did not earn a roster spot with the Phillies, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Ramos will remain in camp until Friday to give the Phillies some innings as they close out their Grapefruit League schedule. He will open the year in the bullpen at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Phillies' Cesar Ramos: Signs minor league deal with Phillies
Ramos signed a minor league contract with the Phillies that includes an invitation to spring training, the Morning Call's Stephen Gross reports.
He posted a 6.04 ERA and struck out just 27 batters in 47.2 innings last year with the Rangers, working primarily as a starter. However, for his career, he has a 3.89 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 18.5 percent strikeout rate as a reliever, so he could catch on with the big league club in a low-leverage role at some point next season.

Ramos inked a minor league contract with Detroit on Friday, and will head to Triple-A Toledo.
Ramos was DFA'd by the Rangers on July 22 and cleared waivers a week later before being scooped up by the Tigers. During his time with Texas, Ramos posted a 6.04 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP during 47.2 innings of work, appearing in 16 games with four starts sprinkled in. He could wind up getting some time on the Tigers within the next couple months, but will begin his time with the organization in Toledo.

Designated for assignment Friday, Ramos went through his waiver period unclaimed but instead of accepting a minor league designation, he elected to become a free agent. Rangers' Cesar Ramos: Confirmed as Monday starter
Ramos will start Monday's game against Oakland, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
With Yu Darvish (shoulder) set to miss at least one outing, Ramos will make his fourth start of the season in what will be his first appearance since June 4. The 31-year-old lefty threw 96, 94 and 80 pitches in his first three starts, allowing five runs over 16.1 innings with 13 strikeouts. He'll have a favorable matchup in a pitcher-friendly ballpark Monday, but if he does get a second start this week, it would line up for Saturday in St. Louis. Meanwhile, Darvish is back in Dallas for an MRI and further examination.

Ramos (1-2) allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings to earn the win Saturday at the Astros.
The only damage Ramos allowed was a solo homer in the third inning, and the offense did just enough to get him the win. He's now allowed two runs in his last 11.1 innings over two starts to lower his ERA to 3.57. He'll make his next start Friday against the Pirates.

Ramos struggled with control, leading him to burn through 94 pitches before making it through the fifth inning. He's now allowed 15 baserunners in his last 6.1 innings to raise his WHIP to 1.80. He'll make his next start Saturday at Houston.

Rangers' Cesar Ramos: Takes loss in spot start Monday against Yankees
Ramos (0-1) took the loss as he allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks over six innings in his first MLB start of 2016 Monday against the Rangers.
Ramos was forced into the starting rotation by a groin injury for Rangers ace Cole Hamels. He managed to scatter nine hits, and while he allowed two home runs, they were both of the solo variety. Ramos was nasty at times, as he induced 11 swinging strikes in 96 pitches. But Ramos's fastball topped out at just 92.5 MPH, and Yankees hitters punished him when he made mistakes. Ramos posted a 2.75 ERA in 52.1 relief innings last season for the Angels. He has rarely started, as Monday marked just his 11th MLB start in 252 appearances, so we'll have to wait and see how long he sticks in this role for the Rangers.
