Gonzalez was released by the Phillies on Friday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Gonzalez had a 14.29 ERA in two starts in Triple-A last season, and much of his career has been hampered by shoulder injuries. He will become a free agent and likely look to sign a minor league deal with a new team.

Phillies' Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez: Will get an opportunity to compete for a job this spring
GM Matt Klentak said Gonzalez will get an opportunity to compete for a job this spring if he is healthy, the Phillies' official site reports.
Gonzalez missed most of last season with shoulder issues. He is currently pitching in the Venezuelan winter league where he is 0-4 with a 4.88 ERA and a 19:10 K:BB ratio in 27.2 innings. The Phillies could give him a look as a starter or a reliever.
