  • Cardinals' Andrew Suarez: Won't make Opening Day roster

    Suarez will not be a part of the Opening Day roster for the Cardinals, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports. Suarez lost out to Andre Pallante and Packy Naughton for the final spots in the St. Louis bullpen. The left-hander will likely head to Triple-A Memphis to begin the 2023 season, and he could help the Cardinals at some point over the summer, assuming he stays in the organization.

  • Cardinals' Andrew Suarez: Lands NRI from St. Louis

    Suarez signed a minor-league contract with the Cardinals on Friday. The left-hander has been given an invitation to major-league spring training as part of the deal. Suarez played in Korea in 2021 and Japan in 2022. He saw action in part of three seasons in the majors with the Giants before that, holding a 4.66 ERA over 56 appearances (31 starts). The 30-year-old is likely pegged for Triple-A Memphis to begin 2023.
