Top Hudson Haskin News

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Back in action

Haskin (concussion) has gone 3-for-5 with two walks, a stolen base, one RBI and one run scored over two games since he was activated from Triple-A Norfolk's 7-day injured list.

Haskin missed just under two weeks with a concussion, which was his second absence of the year after he began the year in recovery from offseason hip surgery. The outfielder is slashing .255/.387/.353 with a home run, four steals, five RBI and 10 runs scored over 15 games with Norfolk.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Returns from IL

Haskin (hip) went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored Tuesday in Triple-A Norfolk's 9-4 loss to Gwinnett after being reinstated from the 7-day injured list.

Haskin was cleared to make his 2024 debut for Norfolk after he completed an 11-game rehab assignment at High-A Aberdeen, with whom he slashed .205/.404/.308 over 52 plate appearances. With Heston Kjerstad getting called up to Baltimore on Tuesday, Haskin should have a chance to play regularly for Norfolk now that he's fully recovered from the left hip surgery he underwent last summer.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Not ready for game action

Haskin (hip) is expected to go on a rehab assignment soon before joining Triple-A Norfolk, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports.

Haskin had left hip surgery last summer and isn't quite up to speed yet. The 25-year-old outfielder slashed .268/.368/.463 with three home runs and five steals in 23 games at Triple-A last year.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Undergoes hip surgery

Haskin underwent season-ending surgery Wednesday to repair a left hip impingement, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

A second-round pick in the 2020 Draft, Haskin will finish the 2023 campaign with an .838 OPS, three home runs and eight stolen bases in just three 33 across three levels. The 24-year-old will need to be added to the 40-man roster over the offseason in order to be protected from the Rule 5 Draft.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Sustains another hamstring injury

Haskin was placed on Triple-A Norfolk's 7-day injured list Saturday with left hamstring tightness, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Haskin missed time earlier in the season with a left hamstring strain while with Double-A Bowie. He's slashing .268/.368/.463 with three home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and 14 runs scored through 23 games with Norfolk. While a second hamstring injury in one season is concerning, it doesn't seem like this is something that would end his 2023 campaign.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Back in action at Double-A

Haskin (hamstring) has gone 7-for-21 with a double, a stolen base, three runs and two RBI with Double-A Bowie since being transferred to the affiliate May 30 after being activated from Triple-A Norfolk's 7-day injured list.

Bowie is likely just a temporary stopover for Haskin, who had posted a monstrous 1.152 OPS in 13 games with Norfolk before landing on the IL on April 18 with a left hamstring strain. Once Norfolk is able to open up an extra roster spot, Haskin will presumably move back to the Triple-A affiliate to handle a near-everyday role in the outfield alongside the newly activated Colton Cowser (quadriceps).

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Recovering from hamstring injury

Haskin is on the 7-day injured list with Triple-A Norfolk as he recovers from a left hamstring strain, Tides radio voice Pete Michaud reports.

It was unsustainable, but Haskin was on fire to start the year, slashing .391/.500/.652 with two home runs and four steals through 56 plate appearances before suffering the injury April 16. Amid that production, Haskin had a .615 BABIP and 32.1 percent strikeout rate, so it's hard to read too much into the gaudy early production.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Present for fall camp

Haskin (thumb) reported to Sarasota, Fla. on Monday to participate in the Orioles' fall instructional league camp, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Haskins' 2021 campaign came to an end in late August, when he sustained a fractured thumb. With just over six weeks to recover, Haskin looks like he'll be ready to go for instructional ball as at least a limited participant, putting him on track to head into 2022 spring training without any restrictions. The 22-year-old outfielder slashed .275/.389/.385 in 26 games for High-A Aberdeen before being shelved with the injury.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Out for season with thumb fracture

High-A Aberdeen placed Haskin on its 7-day injured list Thursday with a fractured thumb, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Haskin is expected to require multiple weeks of recovery time regardless of whether he undergoes surgery, so his first season of professional ball has come to a close. After not getting the chance to make his debut in 2020 following his selection with the 39th overall pick in the first-year player draft earlier that summer, Haskin began his career at Low-A Delmarva before earning a call-up to Aberdeen shortly after the mid-season break. In 25 games at High-A, Haskin hit .267 with a .111 ISO, a 10 percent walk rate and a 16.7 percent strikeout rate across 108 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Hudson Haskin: Elevates to High-A

The Orioles promoted Haskin from Low-A Delmarva to High-A Aberdeen on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The 2020 second-round pick will move up a rung on the minor-league ladder after he posted a .792 OPS, 9.2 percent walk rate and 23.6 percent strikeout rate while going 17-for-22 on stolen-base attempts across 254 plate appearances at Delmarva. The 22-year-old Haskin is regarded as one of the Orioles' top prospects in the lower levels of the minors.
