  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Heads back to minors

Peguero was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday. Peguero spent just over a month in the Angels' bullpen and posted a 5.63 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 16 innings over 11 appearances. However, he'll lose his spot on the active roster after he gave up three unearned runs in one-third of an inning Friday against Texas.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Back in big leagues

Peguero was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports. The 25-year-old made two appearances for the Angels in early May and will now rejoin the major-league club. Peguero surrendered three runs over 1.1 innings between those two outings, but he's pitched better at Triple-A with a 3.55 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 33:5 K:BB across 25.1 innings.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Bound for minors

The Angels optioned Peguero to Triple-A Salt Lake following Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Rays. Los Angeles is off Thursday and likely won't announce a corresponding addition to the 26-man active roster until Friday, when Chase Silseth could be summoned from Double-A Rocket City to make a spot start in the series opener at Oakland, according to Sam Blum of The Athletic. Peguero was recalled from Triple-A on May 3 and made two appearances over his week-and-a-half-long stint with the big club, working 1.1 innings and giving up three earned runs.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake

Peguero was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday. The pitcher failed to appear in any games this spring after having his contract selected by the Angels in November. Peguero struggled in his three outings with the team last season, surrendering seven earned runs in 2.1 innings on the mound. Additionally, he posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in six appearances with Triple-A Salt Lake in 2021.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Contract selected Friday

Peguero's contract was selected by the Angels on Friday. Peguero was cast off the 40-man roster in mid-September but will now have his contract selected to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. He made his first three major-league appearances in 2021 and allowed seven runs in 2.1 innings.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Back off 40-man roster

Peguero was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake and was removed from the 40-man roster Friday. Peguero had his contract selected as a replacement for a player who was placed on the COVID-19 injured list in late August. As a result, he can be removed from the 40-man roster without being subjected to waivers. During his first stint in the majors, Peguero threw only 2.1 innings but surrendered seven earned runs out of the Angels' bullpen.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Struggles in big-league debut

Peguero (0-1) took the loss against Baltimore on Thursday, pitching two-thirds of an inning and allowing five runs on two hits and three walks. The right-hander received his first call-up to the majors Wednesday and made his debut Thursday. The outing did not go well, as Peguero threw only 16 of 31 pitches for strikes and issued three free passes. All five batters he allowed to reach base eventually came around to score, including three who crossed the plate after his departure. Peguero has been solid in the minors this season but may not stick around with the big club for long, especially if he's unable to consistently throw strikes.

  • Angels' Elvis Peguero: Joins big-league club

The Angels selected Peguero's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. Peguero has appeared in only one game for Salt Lake, pitching two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a walk. He's made 26 total appearances across three minor-league levels this season and has posted a 2.79 ERA and 67:18 K:BB in 51.2 innings. Peguero figures to be used in low-leverage relief situations for however long he remains with the Angels.
