  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Goes on 60-day IL

The Nationals transferred Tetreault (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday. Washington didn't provide a timeline for Tetreault's return when he was placed on the shelf July 4 with a stress fracture of his right scapula, but his move to the 60-day IL confirms that he'll be sidelined through at least early September. Before he was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Joan Adon stepped into the rotation for Tetreault. Washington will thus need to break in a new fifth starter in its final series before the All-Star break, with Anibal Sanchez (neck) looking like the top candidate to come off the 60-day IL to fill the void.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Placed on injured list

Tetreault was placed on the 15-day injured list with a stress fracture of his right scapula Monday, retroactive to July 3. Although Tetreault's move to the injured list can be backdated by a day, he won't be eligible to return until at least after the All-Star break. The issue has apparently been lingering for some time, but he struggled to lift his arm during Saturday's start against Miami, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return or who will take his place in the rotation.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Allows four runs in loss

Tetreault (2-2) took the loss to the Marlins on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out one and walking five across four innings. Tetreault had a rough game, throwing 44 of 84 pitches for strikes across four frames. He did not show good control, walking five batters and striking out just one. The righty looked to be moving in the right direction after throwing two quality starts, but he will have some adjustments to make to get back on track. Tetreault will take a 5.14 ERA into his next appearance.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Goes six for win

Tetreault (2-1) gave up one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out four to earn the win in a 6-4 victory over the Rangers on Sunday. Tetreault impressed in his third big-league start of the year, throwing 99 pitches and holding the Rangers to only one run, which came in to score in the seventh after he had already left the game. The rookie right-hander was pounded for seven runs in his first big league start against the Phillies on May 15, but he has since settled down with two consecutive quality starts that earned him wins. The young pitcher is worth watching to see if he can find success at the major-league level despite not showing notable velocity or spin on his fastball thus far.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Lasts seven innings Sunday

Tetreault (1-1) allowed three unearned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two in seven innings to earn the win over the Phillies on Sunday. Tetreault gave up seven runs in four innings during his major-league debut Tuesday, but he fared much better Sunday and posted a quality start en route to his first MLB win. The right-hander posted a 4.19 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 58 innings over 12 starts at Triple-A Rochester to begin the year, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him rewarded with at least one more start following Sunday's solid outing. Assuming he makes another turn through the rotation, Tetreault tentatively lines up to start on the road against Texas next Sunday.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Will stay in rotation

Tetreault is scheduled to make his second start with the Nationals on Sunday against the Phillies. With Steven Strasburg (ribs) recently moving back to the injured list and Washington electing to keep fellow rookie pitcher Evan Lee in the bullpen for now, Tetreault will receive at least one more turn through the rotation. Tetreault was blasted for seven runs on nine hits -- including three home runs -- over four innings in his MLB debut Tuesday against Atlanta, so he'll likely need a better showing Sunday to ensure he holds off Lee or another pitcher for the final spot in Washington's rotation.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Shelled in debut

Tetreault (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against Atlanta, giving up seven runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out two in four innings. It was an inauspicious major-league debut for Tetreault as he gave up three long balls. Dansby Swanson welcomed him with a solo shot in the first and Travis d'Arnaud and Marcell Ozuna went back-to-back in the third. It might not come as a surprise that Tetreault had trouble keeping the ball in the park after he gave up 10 homers in 58 innings for Triple-A Rochester. With Stephen Strasburg (ribs) being moved to the injured list, Tetreault may have a shot at another start despite the poor showing.

  • Nationals' Jackson Tetreault: Set for MLB debut

The Nationals will call up Tetreault from Triple-A Rochester to start Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports. Tetreault has started 12 games for Rochester in 2022, turning in a 4.19 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 52:24 K:BB across 58 innings. If he fares well Tuesday, he could be get a second turn through the rotation while Stephen Strasburg (neck) is on the 15-day injured list.
