The Marlins reinstated Enright (illness) from the 60-day injured list and designated him for assignment Monday. After being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last December, Enright opened the season on the injured list, even though he was cleared to resume workouts during spring training. He was later transferred to the 60-day IL before he began an extended rehab assignment April 29. Between stops at Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville, the 26-year-old pitched to a 3.94 ERA and 1.06 WHIP while striking out 18 in 16 innings. With his 30-day rehab window coming to a close and the Marlins not having room for him in the big-league bullpen, Enright will now be exposed to waivers. Since the Marlins selected him in the Rule 5 Draft over the winter, Enright will have to be offered back to the Guardians if he clears waivers.... See More ... See Less

Marlins' Nic Enright: Scheduled for four innings Saturday
Enright (illness) is scheduled to pitch four innings for Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Enright continues to close in on making his season debut after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in December. The right-hander is currently on the 60-day injured list, but he could make his big-league debut by the end of May.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Tosses two scoreless frames
Enright (illness) struck out two over two scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab start at Triple-A Jacksonville. Enright was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last December and continues to take steps forward in his recovery. He looked sharp in his latest rehab stint and could be closing in on a return from the 60-day injured list, though nothing is set in stone at this time.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Heading out on rehab assignment
Enright (illness) is set to begin a rehab assignment Saturday with Single-A Jupiter, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Enright is working his way back from a December diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma and could be activated off the 60-day injured list when first eligible in late May. Miami selected him from the Cleveland system in this past winter's Rule 5 Draft.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Pitches at extended spring
Enright (illness) pitched in a game Friday at extended spring training, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Enright is currently on the 60-day injured list following an offseason diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma, but it's looking like he might be an option for the Marlins' bullpen around the time he becomes eligible for activation in late May. The 26-year-old righty posted a 2.88 ERA and 87:14 K:BB over 65.2 innings last season between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Guardians in 2022. Miami selected him in the Rule 5 Draft in December.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Enright (illness) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. According to McPherson, Enright was recently able to throw a pair of live batting practice sessions, but the Marlins won't rush him back into game action at the big-league level after he was diagnosed in December with Hodgkin lymphoma. A Rule 5 pick over the winter, Enright wasn't likely to garner a major role out of the Miami bullpen in 2023 even before his diagnosis, so expect the right-hander to remain on a minor-league rehab assignment for close to the maximum length of 30 days whenever he's deemed ready to pitch in games.... Marlins' Nic Enright: Set for bullpen session Sunday
Enright (illness) will throw a bullpen session before Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. After being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma in December, Enright wasn't available to pitch in a game this spring, but the 26-year-old is steadily building back up. According to De Nicola, Marlins general manager Kim Ng said Sunday that Enright will soon face live hitters. Once that happens, Enright could head out on a minor-league rehab assignment soon after. The Marlins selected Enright in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft and will have to keep him on the active roster or stash him on the injured list all season to retain his rights.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Throws first bullpen session
Enright (lymphoma) threw a bullpen session Wednesday for the first time this spring, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Enright announced last month on his personal Instagram page that he was diagnosed with nodular predominant Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma Dec. 23. He's been taking things slowly so far in Marlins camp but has expressed a strong desire to pitch competitively at some point in 2023. The 26-year-old right-hander was selected away from the Guardians in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft back on Dec. 7.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Nic Enright: Heading to Miami
Enright was selected by the Marlins during the Rule 5 draft Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Enright split the 2022 campaign between Double-A and Triple-A with the Guardians and posted a 2.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 87:14 K:BB in 65.2 innings across the two levels. The 25-year-old is now set to receive a look in Miami's big-league bullpen.... See More ... See Less
