  • Mariners' Casey Legumina: Settling in during June

Legumina recorded the final two outs in Saturday's 10-7 loss to the Cubs, allowing no baserunners and fanning one. June has been a productive month for Legumina, who now owns a 2.08 ERA and 11:3 K:BB over his last 8.2 innings. It's a much-needed rebound after he gave up a season-high six runs in his final outing of May, and Legumina should continue working primarily as a middle reliever while also seeing occasional high-leverage work when needed.

  • Mariners' Casey Legumina: Back in big leagues

The Mariners recalled Legumina from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. Seattle sent the right-hander down to the minors Friday, but with Collin Snider (forearm) headed for the injured list, Legumina will rejoin the Mariners' bullpen. The 27-year-old owns a 4.58 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 19.2 innings in the majors this season and will likely be kept in a middle-relief role while with the big club.

  • Mariners' Casey Legumina: Sent down to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Legumina to Triple-A Tacoma following Friday's game against the Twins. Legumina allowed just five runs (three earned) over his first 18 major-league outings with the Mariners. However, he has yielded eight runs (seven earned) over his last two appearances out of the bullpen, which has inflated his ERA and WHIP to 4.58 and 1.53, respectively, across 19.2 innings. The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Bryce Miller (elbow), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Saturday.
