  • Shin-Soo Choo: Headed overseas

Choo agreed Monday with the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization on a one-year, $2.4 million contract, San Kang of The Dong-A Ilbo reports. Choo has been with the Rangers since the 2014 campaign, and following the expiration of his contract, he's elected to take his talents overseas. A return to MLB can't be ruled out at this point, though the 38-year-old's career certainly appears to be winding down.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Exits after one at-bat

Choo exited Sunday's game against the Astros with a mild left ankle sprain. The 38-year-old returned from the injured list stemming from a wrist injury in time for Sunday's series finale and led off with a bunt single for the Rangers, but he tumbled over first base and suffered the ankle injury. Choo's 2020 season -- and perhaps his time with the Rangers -- has come to an end. The 38-year-old is set to hit free agency this winter.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Returns for season finale

Choo (wrist) was activated off the 10-day injured list Sunday and will bat leadoff as the designated hitter against the Astros, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports. The 38-year-old has been sidelined by the right wrist sprain since early September and was considered doubtful to retake the field this season, but he'll rejoin the lineup for what could be his final game with the Rangers. Choo has a .229/.317/.394 slash line with five homers, 15 RBI and six stolen bases in 32 games and is an unrestricted free agent after the season.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Doubtful to return

Choo (wrist) is doubtful to return this season, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com report. Choo has been sidelined by a sprained right wrist, which was originally reported as a hand injury. Manager Chris Woodward said Choo is still having difficulty holding a bat. He'll become a free agent this offseason, so the Rangers will be getting a look at DH replacements for the rest of 2020.

Choo has been slow to recover from his hand injury, according to manager Chris Woodward, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. With just two weeks left in the regular season, it's looking possible that we've seen the last of Choo in 2020. He landed on the injured list earlier this week with a sprained right hand.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Homers in loss

Choo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-4 loss to Houston. It wasn't a great overall day at the plate for Choo, as the 38-year-old struck out three times in the game. • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Swipes bag in return

Choo went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss to the A's. Making his first start since Aug. 19, Choo began the home half of the first inning with a strikeout, but he then singled and stole second base in the third. • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Injuries pile up but no IL

Texas manager Chris Woodward said Choo is also dealing with an oblique injury in addition to the known calf issue, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. Choo was out of the lineup for a sixth straight game Tuesday. Woodward said the oblique injury is a bigger concern than the calf, but the Rangers are holding off on putting him on the injured list. "We thought about it," Woodward said. "And I think if he's going to miss another couple days, it probably makes sense to do that. But with these series, we'd like to have him available, even if it is only for one or two games. It was worth having him miss six or seven days at least so he could play in the last three." That sounds like the Rangers want him available so that they can shop him at the trade deadline, but Choo, who becomes a free agent this offseason, has 10-and-5 trade veto rights.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Unavailable Saturday

Choo (calf) is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Mariners. Saturday's absence will be Choo's third consecutive missed game as the 38-year old veteran continues to battle with a calf issue. Choo has reportedly been battling through some minor injuries throughout the season and manager Chris Woodward believes a little time off would do Choo justice in the long run. With Choo out again, Rob Refsnyder will draw the start as the designated hitter.

  • Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: Nursing calf injury

Texas manager Chris Woodward said Choo is dealing with a calf injury, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. Choo sat out a second straight game Friday with what was originally thought to be rest, but the manager spilled the beans. "Mainly a calf issue," Woodward said. "He's got some other issues he'd been playing through. We both feel it's best for him to heal up because if he keeps playing through it, something is going to give, and then we're going to lose him for the rest of the year." With Choo out of the lineup, Woodward has rotated others at the DH spot. Thursday it was Derek Dietrich and Friday it was Joey Gallo.
