  • Guardians' Austin Peterson: Recalled to majors

The Guardians recalled Peterson from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Roundtable.io reports. Craig Yoho was demoted after allowing two runs in just one-third of an inning Saturday, and it will be Peterson who takes Yoho's spot in the Cleveland bullpen. Peterson has made just one appearance for the Guardians to date, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts against Detroit in his major-league debut back on Sept. 5. The right-hander turned in a 4.41 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 107:38 K:BB over 102 innings with Columbus this season.

  • Guardians' Austin Peterson: Sent back down to minors

Cleveland optioned Peterson to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Peterson had been called up Friday and pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in his major-league debut Saturday. Despite that impressive performance, the righty reliever is headed back to Triple-A to make room in the Guardians bullpen for a fresh arm in Franco Aleman, who was recalled in a corresponding move.

  • Guardians' Austin Peterson: Recalled to big leagues

The Guardians recalled Peterson from Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Peterson was added to the Guardians' 40-man roster last offseason, but this will be his first stint in the big leagues. The 26-year-old has logged a 4.53 ERA and 102:34 K:BB across 95.1 frames this season with Columbus. Peterson will likely be needed to cover some innings during Friday's doubleheader versus the Tigers.

  • Guardians' Austin Peterson: Cut from big-league camp

The Guardians optioned Peterson (triceps) to minor-league camp Friday. Peterson suffered a right triceps strain in late February and will not be ready for the start of the season. Once healthy, he'll be ticketed for the rotation at Triple-A Columbus.

  • Guardians' Austin Peterson: Added to 40-man roster

The Guardians selected Peterson's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. Peterson struggled a bit after being promoted to Triple-A in June, posting a 4.27 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 90.2 innings compared to the 1.47 ERA and 0.82 WHIP he held in 55 frames at Double-A Akron. The 26-year-old's addition to the 40-man roster will prevent him from being selected in the Rule 5 Draft, but the Guardians will likely keep him in Triple-A to begin the 2026 campaign.
