Minnesota transferred Duarte (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday. The transaction clears a spot on the Twins' 40-man roster for right-hander Ronny Henriquez, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Duarte is slated to undergo right elbow surgery in early May and will miss the rest of the season.... See More ... See Less

Twins' Daniel Duarte: Out for season
Duarte will undergo season-ending elbow surgery on May 8, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Duarte initially landed on the injured list due to a triceps strain, and he will now need to go under the knife. It's unclear whether or not the 27-year-old's procedure will be a Tommy John surgery or some other operation, but it will put an early end to his 2024 campaign nonetheless. He allowed one earned run and struck out three batters through four innings across two appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Daniel Duarte: Placed on 15-day IL
Duarte was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Twins on Sunday, retroactive to April 4, with a right triceps strain. Duarte has pitched well out of Minnesota's bullpen this season in yielding just one run over four innings, but he'll now be on the shelf for at last a couple weeks and potentially longer. Jose Miranda has taken his spot on the roster.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Daniel Duarte: Could make opening day roster
Durate will travel with the Twins for their opening series at Kansas City and is likely to be added to the active roster with Josh Staumont suffering a knee injury, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Duarte is not on the 40-man roster, so the Twins will need to make a move to add him to the active roster. Duarte has had a good spring with a 2.92 ERA and a 12:0 K:BB ratio in 12.1 innings. He'd likely be used in low-leverage situations initially.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Daniel Duarte: Designated for assignment
Duarte was designated for assignment by the Twins on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. The Twins did some 40-man roster shuffling and Duarte is one of the casualties. He was just claimed off waivers last week and will now go through the waiver process again.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Daniel Duarte: Designated for assignment
Duarte was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Friday. The Rangers needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of David Robertson. Duarte was just acquired from the Reds via trade last month after he had been dropped from their 40-man roster, and he'll now go through the waiver process again.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Designated for assignment
The Reds designated Duarte (shoulder) for assignment Saturday. With the signing of Brent Suter becoming official Saturday, Duarte will be pushed off the Reds' 40-man roster. The 27-year-old righty posted a 3.69 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across 31.2 innings last season and could be an attractive waiver option for other clubs in search of bullpen help.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Optioned to Triple-A
Duarte was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Duarte picked up his first career save in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Pirates, but given he served as the 27th man for the twin bill, he was sent right back down. He's posted a 3.86 ERA with a 16:10 K:BB through 18.2 innings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Notches first save
Duarte struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned a save during Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Pirates. Duarte was given his first career save opportunity in the 10th inning and had no trouble closing out the 6-5 win. It was his first MLB appearance since Aug. 5 after he was added to Sunday's roster as the 27th man. Duarte owns a 3.86 ERA with a 16:10 K:BB through 18.2 MLB innings this season. Alexis Diaz recorded five outs and earned the win Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Dispatched to minors
The Reds optioned Duarte to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. Duarte was sent out to make room on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Lyon Richardson, who is scheduled to start Sunday's series finale against the Nationals in his MLB debut. After being recalled from Louisville on Wednesday, Duarte made three appearances out of the Cincinnati bullpen, covering three innings and striking out four while giving up an earned run on two hits and no walks.... Reds' Daniel Duarte: Optioned to Louisville
Duarte was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Sam Moll, acquired from the Athletics on Monday, will take over the vacant bullpen spot. Duarte, 26, has pitched to a 4.30 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 11:10 K:BB in 14.2 innings of relief this season at the major-league level.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Recalled from Triple-A
Duarte was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. He was replaced on the roster by Levi Stoudt earlier this month and now the two pitchers are trading spots again. Duarte holds a 2.77 ERA but a 10:9 K:BB over 13 frames with the big club this season.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Sent back to Triple-A
Cincinnati optioned Duarte to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. Duarte had allowed nine walks in 13 innings of relief with the Reds, who are calling up Levi Stoudt to replace Duarte in the bullpen ahead of Wednesday's game against the Giants.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Reinstated, sent to Triple-A
Duarte (elbow) was activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. The 25-year-old has been sidelined by the elbow injury since mid-April, but he recently completed an eight-game rehab assignment with Louisville and will remain there now that he's been fully cleared. Duarte received his first taste of the majors in April prior to the injury, and he allowed three earned runs over 2.2 frames in three outings.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Daniel Duarte: Goes on IL
The Reds placed Duarte on the 10-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Duarte presumably experienced swelling in his elbow after he was checked out by doctors following his one-inning appearance in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers. The Reds replaced Duarte on the 28-man active roster with infielder Alejo Lopez, who was recalled from Triple-A Louisville.... See More ... See Less
