What you need to know about the Jazz

The Jazz were able to grind out a solid victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, winning 112-102. Utah center Rudy Gobert dropped a double-double on 23 points and 21 boards. That snapped a two-game losing streak for Utah, though the Jazz did win eight in a row prior to that. Utah has failed to cover in three straight, however.

Utah is in some of the best roster shape in the league right now with only reserve center Udoka Azubuike (ankle) sidelined. Donovan Mitchell leads the way with 25 points per game, while Bojan Bogdanovic is averaging 17.2 ppg. Gobert is averaging 15.4 points and 15 boards per game.

What you need to know about the Timberwolves

Meanwhile, Minnesota received a tough blow on Tuesday as it fell 114-102 to the Dallas Mavericks. Despite the loss, Minnesota got a solid performance out of center Karl-Anthony Towns, who posted a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds in addition to seven dimes.

Towns will be asked to carry another heavy load as the Timberwolves deal with a lengthy list of absences. Five players -- Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Josh Okogie, Anthony Edwards and Taurean Prince -- are out due to medical protocols. Jaylen Nowell (thumb) and Naz Reid (calf) are both questionable for this matchup.
