  • Trey Burke: Waived by OKC

Burke (undisclosed) was waived by the Thunder on Saturday, Rylan Stiles of BricktownBuckets.com reports. The veteran doesn't fit OKC's rebuild, so he'll be let go with an opportunity to potentially play a role on a competitive team.

  • Thunder's Trey Burke: Sits out preseason finale

Burke (undisclosed) didn't take the floor during Thursday's preseason finale against the Spurs. Burke didn't join the Thunder during the preseason, so the veteran guard could be released when rosters are cut down. Burke logged 10.5 minutes per game over 42 appearances off the bench for Dallas last season, so he could garner some interest from other teams should he hit the open market.

  • Thunder's Trey Burke: Still not available

Burke (undisclosed) didn't play in Tuesday's preseason win over Detroit. Burke was traded to the Thunder at the end of September, but he's yet to join his new team. The extent of the situation is unclear, but his final chance to suit up before the regular season begins will come Thursday against the Spurs.

Burke (undisclosed) isn't with the team for Monday's preseason opener against the Nuggets, Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman reports. • Thunder's Trey Burke: Heading to Thunder

Burke -- along with David Nwaba, Sterling Brown and Marquese Chriss -- was traded from the Thunder to the Rockets on Thursday in exchange for Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome, Maurice Harkless, Theo Maledon and a 2025 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. In what appears to be a salary cap trade for both teams, Burke will team up with Nwaba, Brown and Chriss in Oklahoma City. With Maledon being part of the package heading back to Houston, Burke, at the moment, could likely continue to play a backup point guard role with his new squad. The former Michigan standout was included in the trade that sent Christian Wood to Dallas back in June.

  • Rockets' Trey Burke: Exercises player option

Burke exercised his player option Saturday for the 2022-23 campaign, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Exercising the option was essential to finalizing the trade between Houston and Dallas centered around Christian Wood. It remains to be seen what sort of role Burke could have on Houston or if the team even intends to keep him around.

  • Rockets' Trey Burke: Heading to Houston

Burke has been traded to Houston from Dallas, along with Boban Marjanovic, Marquese Chriss, Sterling Brown and the 26th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, in exchange for Christian Wood, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Burke will try to start fresh with a new team next season, as the guard's playing time with Dallas diminished greatly over the second half of the 2021-22 campaign. Heading to a young Rockets squad that is filled with backcourt talent already, Burke will likely have a tough time carving out a role in Houston. However, the Michigan product will be a good asset in mentoring the young ones.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Plays in garbage time

Burke (COVID-19 protocols) missed his only field-goal attempt and recorded no other statistics Wednesday in the Mavericks' 131-113 win over the Pistons. Burke missed the Mavericks' previous four games while he was in the COVID-19 protocols, but he was cleared in advance of Wednesday's contest and received some garbage-time run. The 29-year-old guard could see elevated run at some point over the Mavericks' final two games if head coach Jason Kidd elects to rest some of his key regulars, but Burke doesn't look like he'll be part of the rotation when Dallas is at full strength or close to it.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Expected to be available Wednesday

Burke (COVID-19 protocols) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News reports. Burke missed four consecutive games due to COVID-19 protocols, but he's expected to be available Wednesday. However, it's unclear how big of a role the backup point guard will garner. He's only appeared in seven games since Feb. 12 and has averaged 3.7 points in 10.4 minutes during that stretch.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Lands in COVID-19 protocols

Burke has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Lakers due to health and safety protocols. Burke will likely miss multiple games before he's able to clear protocols. In his absence, Spencer Dinwiddie and Frank Ntilikina are expected to handle the majority of the backup guard minutes behind Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Removed from injury report

Burke (illness) has been cleared to play in Sunday's game versus Utah. Burke missed Friday's game against the Wolves due to an illness, but he'll be back to availability for coach Jason Kidd on Sunday. The former Michigan standout has been in and out of the rotation of late, so it's very possible he could wind up as a DNP-CD.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Questionable for Sunday

Burke (illness) is listed as questionable to play against Utah on Sunday. Burke missed Friday's game against the Timberwolves due to a non-COVID illness, and he could be absent for Sunday's contest as well. The veteran guard hasn't been a significant part of Dallas' lineup, as he has averaged just 8.7 minutes in 20 games since the start of January.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Out Friday

Burke (illness) is out Friday against the Timberwolves. Burke hasn't played over the past two games and will now be out due to illness. He's a fringe part of the rotation, so his absence won't affect much.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Gets light minutes in narrow win

Burke (shoulder) played four minutes and finished with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and one steal Saturday in the Mavericks' 114-113 win over the Kings. Burke made his return to action Saturday after he received the green light to play following a prolonged recovery from a left shoulder sprain suffered shortly before the All-Star break. Even with star point guard Luka Doncic (toe) sidelined, Burke barely held a role in head coach Jason Kidd's rotation. All of Burke, Frank Ntilikina (eight minutes) and Sterling Brown (nine minutes) are candidates to see their playing time evaporate entirely if Doncic is back in action for Monday's game against Utah.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Available vs. Jazz

Burke (shoulder) is available for Saturday's game against the Jazz. Burke will return to the court after missing the last six games due to a left shoulder sprain. He averaged 5.8 points in 11.4 minutes per game across his five appearances prior to his absence.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Questionable for Saturday

Burke (shoulder) is questionable for Saturday's contest against the Kings. Burke has missed six straight games due to a left shoulder sprain. However, he appears close to making a return, as this marks the second consecutive contest that he's garnered a questionable tag.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Out against Warriors

Burke (shoulder) is out Thursday against the Warriors. Burke was considered questionable Thursday, but he'll be forced to miss a sixth consecutive game due to a left shoulder sprain. His continued absence shouldn't impact the team's rotation.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Questionable Thursday

Burke (shoulder) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors. Burke has missed the last five games with a left shoulder sprain but will have a chance to return to the court Thursday. However, his status shouldn't impact the team's rotation.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Ruled out Tuesday

Burke (shoulder) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Lakers. Burke continues to deal with a left shoulder sprain and will be held off the court for a fifth straight game. His absence shouldn't impact the Mavericks' rotation.

  • Mavericks' Trey Burke: Won't play Sunday

Burke (shoulder) will not play Sunday against the Warriors. Burke continues to deal with a sprained left shoulder, so he won't be available as an option off the bench for first-year head coach Jason Kidd. While the Mavs' roster isn't exactly brimming with guard depth, Burke hasn't been a regular part of the rotation for most of the season, so his absence Sunday won't carry any major fantasy ramifications.
