  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Back to bench

Nix isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Kings, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports. Nix drew a start in each of his team's last four contests due to the absence of Kevin Porter (foot), Jalen Green (calf) and Alperen Sengun (illness), but he'll return to a bench role Monday evening. Nix finished with three points, two rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes during his last contest off the bench Jan. 26 against Cleveland.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Starting Saturday

Nix will start Saturday's game against the Pistons, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Nix will make his second start of the season with the Rockets down Kevin Porter (foot), Jalen Green (calf) and Alperen Sengun (illness). In his prior start, Nix played 36 minutes but struggled, posting one point, one rebound, two assists, one steal and four turnovers.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Back to bench

Nix isn't starting Monday's game against the Lakers, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. Nix drew a spot start Sunday with both Jalen Green (suspension) and Kevin Porter (foot) out, but he'll return to a bench role now that Green has been reinstated. Nix has struggled to see much action in a bench role, averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 assists in 3.6 minutes over his last five contests as a reserve.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Starting against Clippers

Nix will start at point guard in Sunday's game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. He'll pick up his first start of the season while Houston is down of its top two guards for the day in Jalen Green (suspension) and Kevin Porter (foot). Meanwhile, forward Jae'Sean Tate, who had been seeing some run as a backup point guard of late, is also suspended for the contest. Look for the Rockets to rely on Nix and rookie TyTy Washington to handle most of the minutes at point guard Sunday, even though both players had been on the outside of head coach Stephen Silas' rotation.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Back in rotation Thursday

Nix totaled seven points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and two assists over four minutes during Thursday's 129-114 loss to Dallas. Nix logged four minutes in the loss, re-entering the rotation, albeit in garbage time. After playing as the primary backup behind Kevin Porter, Nix has since fallen out of the rotation, ceding his spot to TyTy Washington. Given the recent trajectory, Nix figures to be nothing more than a last resort in both fantasy and reality.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Nine assists, three steals in loss

Nix ended with four points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds, nine assists and three steals across 24 minutes during Monday's 124-105 loss to the Spurs. Nix handed out a career-high nine assists in the loss, logging more than 20 minutes for just the fourth time this season. He continues to play backup minutes over TyTy Washington, something that could eventually change should the coaching staff opt to utilize some common sense. While he has been playing regular minutes, Nix should be viewed as nothing more than an assists streamer in deeper formats.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Five points in 12 minutes

Nix finished Sunday's 97-92 win over the Bucks with five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), one rebound, four assists and one steal in 12 minutes. Nix continues to play a marginal role off the bench, logging fewer than 20 minutes for the 10th consecutive game. He has scored in double-digits only once thus far, sitting outside the top 300 for the season. Outside of very deep formats, there is no reason to have him on your radar.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Plays season-high 25 minutes

Nix totaled three points (1-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 25 minutes during Friday's 99-91 loss to the Pacers. Nix stepped into an increased role with Kevin Porter ruled out with a back injury. However, Nix was not able to capitalize on the promotion, scoring just three points for the third straight game. While there is certainly an element of upside when it comes to Nix, his nightly role is far too insignificant to warrant attention outside of the deepest fantasy leagues.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Tallies 12 points in loss

Nix accumulated 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 109-101 loss to the Clippers. Nix has been an inconsistent contributor on the scoreboard early this season, but he scored in double figures for the first time Wednesday while shooting 66.7 percent from beyond the arc. While the 20-year-old hasn't had enough opportunities to put him on many fantasy radars, it's encouraging that he's shooting 47.1 percent from beyond the arc to begin the year.

Nix chipped in nine points (3-4 FG, 3-4 3Pt), two assists and one steal over 13 minutes during Friday's 125-111 loss to Portland. Nix has worked his way into the Rockets' rotation over the past four games, averaging 4.5 points and 2.0 assists in 15.3 minutes. His upside remains limited, even in deep leagues.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Questionable Friday

Nix (back) is questionable for Friday's game against Memphis, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Nix was probable for Wednesday's regular-season opener against Atlanta prior to begin ruled out, but he's in the mix to make his season debut against the Grizzlies. If he's held out again, Josh Christopher and Garrison Mathews should see increased playing time for Houston.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Probable for opener

Nix (back) is listed as probable for Wednesday's Opening Night clash with the Hawks, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports. Nix could not suit up for last Friday's preseason finale due to lower-back soreness, but it appears he's moved past the issue ahead of the season. While he's not guaranteed to be available Wednesday, Nix's probable status means he will likely be available off the bench.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Questionable Friday

Nix sustained a back injury during Monday's exhibition game against Miami, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up for Friday's preseason finale. If he's unavailable, Jalen Green and Josh Christopher are candidates to see increased run.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Double-double in championship win

Nix tallied 20 points (9-25 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), 11 rebounds, eight rebounds, three steals and a block across 38 minutes in Thursday's 131-114 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats in Game 2 of the G League Finals. Nix came close to a triple-double -- almost a quadruple-double if you count turnovers -- Thursday despite a spotty shooting day, but he won't mind as RGV won its fourth G League title. Nix had a huge role for the Vipers, averaging 20.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game, which are all improvements over his performances for the G League Ignite last season.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Triple-double against Delaware

Nix posted 31 points (11-25 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, 11 assists and two steals across 39 minutes in Tuesday's 145-128 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats in Game 1 of the G League Finals. Nix needs to cut down on the five turnovers he committed Tuesday, but there's not much else to complain about in his triple-double performance to kick off the G League Finals. He averaged 20.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game this season for the Vipers.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Inefficient 22 points in G League playoffs

Nix put up 22 points (7-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 34 minutes in Saturday's 125-114 victory over the Agua Caliente Clippers in the Western Conference Final. Nix wasn't the most efficient shooter Saturday, but he also contributed in the Conference Final with his rebounding, passing and defense. He's averaging 20.6 points, 7.6 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game this season in with Rio Grande Valley.

  • Rockets' Daishen Nix: Part of rotation Monday

Nix finished with seven points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, four assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Monday's 123-106 loss to Miami. With Eric Gordon (rest) out, Nix played 20-plus minutes for just the second time all season and for the first time since Dec. 27. The undrafted rookie dished out a career-high four assists and scored his most points since totaling 13 (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT) across 12 minutes during a Jan. 1 loss to Denver. It's unclear if Nix will remain in the rotation during Wednesday's matchup with the Lakers.
