  • 76ers' Adem Bona: Inks four-year deal with Philly

Bona agreed to a four-year, $8 million contract with the 76ers on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Selected with the 41st overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Bona will now be assured a spot on the 76ers' 15-man roster to open the season after signing with the club. The contract comes after the UCLA product has gotten off to a strong start to the Summer League, averaging 6.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in 22.7 minutes through four games. Though he's shown promise thus far, Bona will be hard pressed to open the season as a member of the 76ers' rotation after the team signed Andre Drummond earlier in the offseason to presumptively slot in as Joel Embiid's backup.

  • 76ers' Adem Bona: Team-high two blocks in win

Bona tallied seven points (3-6 FG, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 24 minutes in Monday's 102-92 win over the Thunder in the Salt Lake City Summer League. Bona was effective on the defensive end in the club's opening game of the Summer League, and he was hitting shots at an efficient rate. The No. 41 overall pick racked up two blocks, and he was known as a solid interior defender with UCLA as he averaged 1.8 blocks per game in two seasons. In his final collegiate season, Bona averaged 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 33 games.
