    Coach Darko Rajakovic said Thursday that Mogbo has impressed in training camp as a weak-side help defender, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports. Mogbo was selected with the No. 31 overall pick by the Raptors in the 2024 NBA Draft. While the rookie forward isn't slated to receive significant playing time, his defensive prowess could allow him the ability to see the floor earlier than expected.

  • Raptors' Jonathan Mogbo: Ruled out for Summer League finale

    Mogbo has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League finale against the Spurs due to a back contusion, Aaron Rose of SI.com reports. Toronto selected Mogbo with the No. 31 overall pick in this year's draft, and he made two appearances during the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game. He'll get a breather as the Raptors close out Summer League play Sunday.

  • Raptors' Jonathan Mogbo: Goes 31st to Toronto

    Mogbo was selected by the Raptors with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Mogbo played two years of junior college basketball before spending a year at Missouri State and finishing out at San Francisco last season. In 2023-24, Mogbo posted 14.2 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 63.6 percent from the field. At 6-6 with a 7-3 wingspan, Mogbo is somewhat of a hybrid, capable of playing both on and off the ball and defending multiple positions. At the NBA level, Mogbo will likely be a defense-first, energy player who does the little things. At this stage in his development, Mogbo is essentially a non-shooter outside of the paint.
