  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Scores 27 against Greensboro

Primo recorded 27 points (10-18 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal across 32 minutes in Friday's loss against Greensboro.

Primo has been moving between San Antonio and Austin during the last few weeks and has looked effective on both roles, though he clearly holds a more prominent role for the G League affiliate. Primo is averaging 18.0 points per game in seven appearances with Austin.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Recalled, active Saturday

Primo was recalled from the G League and is active for Saturday's tilt against the Warriors, Bruno Passos of PoundingTheRock.com reports.

Primo has played in two of the past three Spurs games, so there's certainly a good chance he sees the floor Saturday. In his 26 total NBA minutes, he's racked up 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Sent to G League

Primo was assigned to the Austin Spurs on Tuesday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Primo was recalled for Monday's contest, as the Spurs were without Doug McDermott (knee) and Devin Vassell (quad). The rookie first-round pick played a career-high 12 minutes during the 116-99 win, posting six points, two rebounds and one assist.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Called up by San Antonio

Primo was recalled to the Spurs on Monday, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

With Doug McDermott (knee) and Devin Vassell (quad) both ruled out again, the Spurs have elevated Primo, Joe Wieskamp and Devontae Cacok from Austin for Monday's contest against the Wizards. Primo played five minutes and missed his only shot during San Antonio's 96-88 win over Boston on Friday.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Scores team-high 18 points

Primo recorded 18 points (8-21 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six assists, three steals and two rebounds across 31 minutes in Saturday's loss against the Hustle.

Primo is one of the most promising young players in the Spurs system and has looked good in the G League so far, averaging 16.6 points, 4.2 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.6 steals per contest.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Recalled to San Antonio

Primo was recalled to the Spurs on Friday, Dan Weiss of Bally Sports San Antonio reports.

With Doug McDermott (knee) and Devin Vassell (quad) both ruled out, the Spurs elected to recall Primo and Joe Wieskamp from Austin. Primo has played just nine minutes across three appearances for San Antonio this season.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Scores team-high 28 points

Primo recorded 28 points (9-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three assists, two blocks and a steal across 31 minutes in Sunday's win over Mexico City.

Primo has bounced between Austin and San Antonio to start the season, but this 28-point outing came out of nowhere since he "only" scored 14 points in his G League debut. Primo can also dish out dimes (11 through two games) and hit from deep (7-14 3Pt), so he clearly has value for this team.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Assigned to G League

Primo was assigned to the G League on Saturday.

Primo isn't part of the Spurs' rotation and will presumably bounce back and forth between the NBA and the G League for much of the season.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Recalled to San Antonio

Primo was recalled by the Spurs on Wednesday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Primo has made just two appearances with San Antonio this season, playing a total of six minutes. The rookie was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, but he hasn't been given much of an opportunity to showcase his abilities. In his only G League game, the 18-year-old notched 14 points, eight assists, two rebounds and one block across 24 minutes.

Primo was reassigned to the G League on Thursday, independent NBA journalist Matthew Tynan reports.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Recalled by Spurs

Primo was recalled by the Spurs on Wednesday, independent NBA journalist Matthew Tynan reports.

  • Josh Primo: Assigned to G League

Primo was assigned to the Austin Spurs on Wednesday, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.

Primo had a minimal role with San Antonio to begin the year, as he averaged just 2.5 points in 3.0 minutes per game across two appearances. He'll presumably be in line for additional work in the G League.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Efficient shooting in preseason

Primo finished the preseason appearing in five games and averaging 5.8 points on 63.2 percent shooting from the field, including 50.0 percent from three, 1.2 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 9.7 minutes.

The 18-year-old didn't get a ton of run in the preseason, but it seems like he's more of a developmental project for the Spurs, who garnered some critique for taking Primo at No. 12 overall in this year's draft. He was much more active in Summer League, where he averaged 14.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 blocks. However, he shot just 36.2 percent from the field and had more turnovers than assists. Primo can be ignored in redraft leagues, but he has some value as a flier in deep keeper/dynasty leagues.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Not on injury report

Primo (groin) is not listed on the Spurs' injury report heading into Monday's preseason opener against the Jazz.

Last week, coach Gregg Popovich revealed the rookie was battling a minor groin issue, but it looks like he's since moved past it. Primo could be set for extended minutes over the Spurs' five-game preseason schedule as the team attempts to get a look at the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. During the regular season, playing time could be more difficult to come by, so for the time being Primo is best left alone in most season-long fantasy leagues.

  • Spurs' Josh Primo: Opens camp with groin issue

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said Monday that Primo is nursing a minor groin injury at the onset of training camp, Dan Weiss of Bally Sports San Antonio reports.

One of the youngest players eligible for selection in July's draft, Primo won't turn 19 years old until Christmas Eve and isn't expected to be a member of the Spurs' regular rotation to begin his professional career. With that in mind, Primo's groin issue shouldn't be anything that affects how the Spurs divvy up the minutes among their guards to begin the 2021-22 campaign, though the rangy wing could still miss out on some meaningful developmental time in the preseason.
