Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, was not a good day for the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals lost to the Buffalo Bills, dropping their record to 3-6-1 and putting a huge damper on any remaining playoff hopes they had.

On the second play of the game, they reportedly lost star wide receiver A.J. Green to a torn hamstring. He may be done for the season. Later in the game, the Bengals lost yet another big piece of their offense, as running back Giovani Bernard tore his ACL.

At what point during the game Bernard suffered the injury was not immediately clear.

Bernard has once again been splitting snaps with Jeremy Hill in the Cincinnati backfield this year, working as the perimeter and pass-catching complement to Hill's between-the-tackles power running. Though Hill had been receiving more touches, Bernard was on the field for more snaps almost every week.

Bernard had 91 carries for 337 yards and two touchdowns this season, as well as 39 catches for 336 yards and a score in the air. With him and Green going down, 45 percent of Andy Dalton's targets this season went out the window in one day.

Rex Burkhead, Cincinnati's third running back, will likely be the recipient of some extra snaps now that Bernard is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Hill can obviously be expected to move into a firmer role as the No. 1 back.
