Drew Brees interceptions force catch-up mode failure in Week 15

Saints quarterback Drew Brees was thoroughly outplayed by Rams counterpart Kellen Clemens on Sunday. That is a sentence nobody believed they would read heading into Week 15.
His big numbers were merely a product of catch-up football and extended garbage time. Brees completed 39 of 56 passes, two first-quarter interceptions and one make-the-score-look-better touchdown to wide receiver Marques Colston with three minutes remaining.
Brees tossed a pick on his first pass, then another in the middle of the quarter. He came on strong in the second quarter and finished the half 16 of 21 for 169 yards, but he ended up with his second poor all-around performance in the last three weeks, both on the road.
That doesn't bode well for next Sunday, when Brees and the Saints offense face a sterner test at Carolina.
