Micah Parsons will make his Green Bay Packers debut Sunday after being dealt from the Dallas Cowboys just over a week ago. It was in Green Bay where Parsons found the contract he was searching for, as he put pen to paper on a four-year, $188 million deal that includes $120 million guaranteed at signing. It was the biggest trade of the NFL offseason -- and surprising in more ways than one.

It's a tough pill to swallow for Cowboys fans, as they traded one of the best players in the entire NFL to another NFC contender. But Dallas also ended up accepting questionable compensation in the form of two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Cowboys wanted to trade Parsons to an AFC team but actually received the strongest trade offer from a bitter rival.

Glazer reports that the Philadelphia Eagles offered the Cowboys two first-round picks, a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick, "amongst other things," for Parsons. Even though it was a stronger offer, you can understand why Dallas did not want to send Parsons to a rival -- a rival that is coming off a Super Bowl campaign. Glazer reports that Dallas failed to field significant interest from AFC teams. When it came to interested NFC teams, it was actually Clark that reportedly made the difference for the Cowboys.

Parsons is worth more than two first-round picks and a defensive tackle. He has recorded 52.5 sacks in 63 career games played, is a two-time first-team All-Pro and has been voted a Pro Bowler every season of his NFL career. He is one of just two players in NFL history to record at least 12 sacks in each of a player's first four NFL seasons, the other being Pro Football Hall of Famer Reggie White.

It's still a mystery how Eagles general manager Howie Roseman would handle Parsons' record-breaking extension with the other contracts he is already juggling, but if anyone could figure it out, it's probably Roseman. There are Cowboys fans out there that aren't happy with the return they got for Parsons, but at least he's not playing for the Eagles.
