Greatest Super Bowl performance voting: Steve Young
Steve Young has knocked Phil Simms out of first place.

There’s no such thing as a perfect game but Steve Young came pretty close to it in his Super Bowl XXIX performance with a record six touchdowns, three of them to hall of famer Jerry Rice. Young’s stunning performance unseeded NFL Monday QB’s Phil Simms from the number one spot for greatest Super Bowl performance by a quarterback. If there was one performance that could do it, it was this MVP caliber game where Young became the first player to lead a Super Bowl in both rushing and passing. Here’s what NFL Monday QB’s Rich Gannon had to say about it.
"There was a lot at stake for Steve Young after having played behind Joe Montana for many years. This was his chance to win his own Super Bowl. He was almost flawless in passing for six touchdowns. It was one of those nights where you don't really remember the ball ever hitting the ground. It was one of the best Super Bowl performances ever that I can remember."
