Redskins coach Jay Gruden made one of the gutsiest calls of the night Monday when he decided to go for it on fourth-and-1 from the Cowboys' 49-yard line with just under four minutes left in a game that was tied 17-17

If the call failed, the Cowboys would have taken over on downs needing only about 15 yards to get in position for a game-winning field goal attempt.

The call didn't fail though thanks to Jay Gruden calling his brother Jon's favorite play: Spider 2 Y Banana. On the pivotal play, Colt McCoy ended up connecting with Darrel Young for a 12-yard gain.

You can see the entire play on NFL.com here.

As soon as Jon Gruden pointed out that it was a Spider 2 Y Banana called, Mike Tirico chimed in with Gruden's slogan, "As always, the fullback in the flat is the primary receiver."

That's Jon Gruden's famous line, which he says nearly every time he talks about the Spider 2 Y Banana, and he talks about it a lot.

Here's Jon Gruden talking about the play after the Colts ran it against the Eagles on Monday night in Week 2.

Here's Jon Gruden talking about the play after the 49ers ran it against the Rams in Week 6. The best part here is that after the play, Gruden asks Tirico, "Who's the primary [receiver] Mike? Mike, who's the primary?"

Of course, no Spider 2 Y Banana story would be complete without a clip from Jon Gruden's QB camp.

Watch below as Gruden gets overly excited listening to Andrew Luck describe the Spider 2 Y Banana in 2012. You even get to hear Gruden say, "Nobody throws more bananas than the Stanford Cardinal."

If Jon Gruden does return to coaching, opposing defenses should definitely be on the look out for the Spider 2 Y Banana.
