NFL free agency 2022: Rams GM Les Snead reiterates desire to re-sign Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham is currently an unrestricted free agent

We're over a week into free agency and Odell Beckham Jr. is still hanging around on the open market. Naturally, part of that is likely due to the veteran receiver recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl LVI, but it is noteworthy that he hasn't found his way back to the team that he just won a championship with in the Los Angeles Rams.
In the aftermath of that victory, it seemed like a matter of when rather than if the receiver would be re-signing with L.A. as both he and the Rams brass spoke openly about a reunion. As we've gone further down the road of the offseason, however, it has yet to materialize. For a minute, it did seem like the Rams were moving on from Beckham after they signed arguably the top receiver on the market in Allen Robinson, but the subsequent trade of Robert Woods to Tennessee does leave a slot open for Beckham.
While speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Rams GM Les Snead reiterated the team's desire to re-sign Beckham as they gear up for a title defense.
"He's someone that we definitely want back," said Snead, via Greg Beacham of the Associated Press. "A little bit more complex situation based on the injury. We envision it being similar but different circumstances to last year. When Odell is ready to play, we'd appreciate him being part of (the Rams)."
This is the second consecutive year that Beckham has torn the ACL in his left knee and will likely miss a large chunk of the 2022 season because of it. Having Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson and Van Jefferson should be enough at receiver to cushion the blow of Beckham being out for substantial time if he re-ups with Los Angeles, and a reunion could be a good idea for both sides.
After coming aboard following his release by the Browns, Beckham picked up a quick rapport with quarterback Matthew Stafford, catching 48 passes for 593 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games (including playoffs). Beckham jumping back into a familiar offense could be beneficial as he continues his rehab, while the Rams would reap the benefit of having another weapon injected in their offense as they make a playoff push and try to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
While Snead may want Beckham back in the fold for 2022, he may want to work fast in locking him in, however, as Patriots receiver Matthew Judon was recently on social media trying to recruit the wideout to New England, while Beckham himself seems to be impressed with the Matt Ryan acquisition by Indianapolis.
