On the Friday morning EOF podcast, my colleague Ryan Wilson opined that the Titans were the most boring team in the league. Perhaps a dash of the man they call Clipboard Jesus would help spice up the Tennessee organization in Week 4.

Clipboard Jesus, of course, refers to Titans backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, who very well could start Sunday for Tennessee with starter Jake Locker listed as questionable.

Whitehurst hasn't thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2011, but the coaching staff apparently believes he can start if Locker's injured wrist isn't well enough to allow him to take the field Sunday.

"I know that we talk about regular-season games being different than preseason games, and they are from a standpoint of intensity," coach Ken Whisenhunt said, via the Tennessean. "I've been through eight preseason games with him, so I feel like I've seen him play in a game. I've seen him go in and perform well, so I don't really have a question as far as what it would be like Sunday with Charlie."

Locker hasn't practiced much this week, so there really seems to be a possibility that Whitehurst, who has a career starting record of 1-3 (his one win came in 2010 with the Seahawks), really could play vs. the Colts.

"I would love to go out there and play. That is what you do it for," Whitehurst said. "There's 53 guys out here and only so many starters, but that's what you play the game for, to go out there and play. A long time ago, I did it a lot."
