Lions running back Reggie Bush struggled to get anything going on the ground Thursday against the Patriots, but he showed his unique abilities as a pass catcher in the team's third preseason game.

Bush rushed for just 1 yard on six carries, three of which went for negative or no yards. Fortunately, he provided a nice security blanket for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who looked his way seven times, connecting on five receptions. He went for 103 yards in the passing game, with a long catch of 67 yards coming on a simple screen pass.

Bush has rushed for just 21 yards on 17 carries in the preseason, with 12 receptions for 147 yards. He will likely see little action in the team's fourth and final preseason game, Aug. 29 at Buffalo.
