Vic Fangio says 'it's possible' Broncos could name starting quarterback after Week 2 of the preseason
Drew Lock vs. Teddy Bridgewater may last just one more week

The Broncos quarterback battle may have just one more week left in it. On Monday, head coach Vic Fangio said that "it's possible" he could name either Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater Denver's Week 1 starter following the club's second preseason contest with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.
In that game, it'll be Bridgewater getting the start with Lock coming in second, which has been the plan dating back prior to the exhibition opener. Last week, it was Lock -- as the incumbent starter -- who got the starting nod against the Vikings with Bridgewater relieving him later in the contest. In that win over Minnesota, both quarterbacks played a high level. Lock completed five of his seven passes for 151 yards and two scores, while Bridgewater missed just one of his eight throws on the day for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Fangio commended both quarterbacks after that game but did say there still had been no separation between the two.
"I thought they both played [well]," Fangio told reporters Monday. "When you talk about last week, you think about the whole week in its totality. The two practices against Minnesota were important because [it was] our [No.] 1's against their [No.] 1's for the most part, and then the game. To me, it was a three-day trip in that regard, and I thought both guys did well."
Lock had the highlight play of the afternoon with his 80-yard touchdown throw to K.J. Hamler, but it was a third-and-four toss to Jerry Jeudy during that matchup that impressed Fangio, who noted that he "definitely is" seeing the field better.

With another impressive performance, the third-year quarterback could very well put himself in a position to retain his job heading into the regular season and put this summer head-to-head in Denver to rest.
