Lions' Teddy Bridgewater: Shines in preseason finale
Bridgewater completed 13 of 22 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against Carolina.
Bridgewater's second preseason appearance went much better than his first, including a TD drive on the second series of the game when Carolina still had some starters in. The Lions rested all their starters and some key backups, but that didn't stop Bridgewater from producing 20 points on six drives while playing the entire first half. The highlight was a 70-yard TD pass to Antoine Green, threaded between three defenders, with the Lions seemingly seeing what they needed to confirm Bridgewater as their No. 2 QB for the season opener in Kansas City on Sept. 7.

Lions' Teddy Bridgewater: Shaky in Lions debut
Bridgewater completed five of his 11 pass attempts for 34 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in Saturday's 25-7 preseason loss to the Jaguars.
Jared Goff sat out the game, leaving Bridgewater with the start. He led six offensive possessions but couldn't move the ball much while leading zero scoring drives. It was a lackluster debut for Bridgwater in Detroit, but he'll remain one of the better backup options around the league in 2023.

Lions' Teddy Bridgewater: Gets Saturday start
Bridgewater is slated to start Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Per Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site, coach Dan Campbell noted this week that he didn't plan on playing the team's starters, so Bridgewater will have an opportunity to solidify his standing behind top QB Jared Goff, with Nate Sudfeld and Adrian Martinez on hand to follow Bridgewater on Saturday.
