  • Falcons' Tyeler Davison: Limited Wednesday

Davison (ankle) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session, Jason Butt of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The former Saint played two-thirds of the defensive snaps Week 1 against Seattle, but his workload was reduced to 41 percent Sunday during a loss to the Cowboys. Davison has since been designated with an ankle injury and his status for Sunday's showdown against the Bears remains uncertain. David Montgomery has gotten out to a hot start for Chicago with 146 rushing yards on 29 carries, while Tarik Cohen has plugged his way to 4.4 yards per carry on 12 attempts thus far on the season. Davison would factor in as a key piece to slowing down those two backs if he indeed ends up being active for the game.

  • Falcons' Tyeler Davison: Heading to COVID list

The Falcons placed Davison (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Matthew Tabeek of the team's official site reports. Davison and reserve quarterback Danny Etling became the fourth and fifth Falcons to be placed on the list after testing positive for COVID-19 or having recent contact with someone who tested positive. Once he's removed from the list, Davison will serve as a key cog on the interior of Atlanta's defensive line.

  • Saints' Tyeler Davison: Scheduled for shoulder surgery

Davison is scheduled for shoulder surgery on Thursday, NOLA.com reports. Davison started 15 games at nose tackle for the Saints this season and logged the second-most snaps out of any defensive tackle in the league. However, he reportedly played through a torn labrum -- in addition to a separate foot injury -- since Week 4. Assuming the procedure goes well Thursday, Davison should be ready to go in time for the start of offseason activities.
