  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Another active day

Adams furnished five tackles (three solo) and defensed two passes in the Buccaneers' 33-27 overtime win over the Bills in Week 14.

Adams logged a season-high 59 snaps and provided a solid encore to his six-tackle tally in Week 13 against the Falcons. The 29-year-old rotational safety could be in line for another heavy workload in the Week 15 Sunday night clash against the Saints, considering Antoine Winfield (foot) started off prep for that contest with a missed Wednesday practice.

  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Draws a start

Adams will start at free safety Sunday against the Falcons, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Adams is next man up with Jordan Whitehead (calf) and Mike Edwards (suspension) out Sunday. He's appeared in eight games for Tampa Bay this season, mostly on special teams, while recording nine tackles. He'll look to help stop the Falcons' passing game and most notably Kyle Pitts.

  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Signed to 53-man roster

The Bucs signed Adams to their 53-man roster Monday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Adams was promoted from the practice squad ahead of Week 1 and made the most of his opportunity. He secured one of the most important plays for the Buc in Week 1 by tackling Ezekiel Elliott near the goal line to force a field goal. The 28-year-old is playing well and will continue to draw snaps as long as Jordan Whitehead (hamstring) continues to miss time.

Adams was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list and practiced for the first time during training camp Wednesday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.

During the offseason, Adams signed a one-year contract with the Eagles. He will look to compete with Anthony Harris and Rodney McLeod for playing time at safety after mainly playing special teams for the Buccaneers a year ago.

  • Eagles' Andrew Adams: Set on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Eagles placed Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

Fresh off of winning a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers last season, Adams will look to compete with Anthony Harris and Rodney McLeod for playing time at safety with his new club. He'll hope that the move to the COVID-19 list is only a temporary obstacle to his bid to win a roster spot.

  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Ready to play Sunday

Adams (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

The 27-year-old received the questionable tag after being limited at practice throughout the week, but the hamstring issue won't impact his availability for Sunday. Adams played six defensive snaps in the season opener but has exclusively played special teams in the past five games.

Adams (hamstring) was a full participant for Thursday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the team's official site reports.

Adams was forced to limited practice time during Wednesday's session, but as evidenced by this news, he's healthy and ready for Week 1. The Connecticut product was strong as a rotational safety for the team in 2019, and he's expected to operate in that same role in 2020.

  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Limited in practice Wednesday

Adams (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Adams played an instrumental role in Tampa Bay's secondary as a rotational safety in 2019, and he's positioned to handle a similar gig if healthy Week 1. The 27-year-old will have two more chances to increase his level of practice participation before Sunday's season opener against New Orleans.

Adams inked a one-year, $1.01 million contract with Tampa Bay on Sunday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Adams was phenomenal as a rotational safety in 2019 for the Buccaneers, logging 627 defensive snaps and adding another 164 on special teams. He collected 46 tackles (41 solo), an interception, a forced fumble and three pass breakups during the season. Heading into his third season with the franchise in 2020, Adams will likely be deployed in a similar fashion as he was in 2019.

  • Buccaneers' Andrew Adams: Another solid campaign

Adams, who logged a season-high 89 snaps and posted seven tackles (four solo) in the Week 17 overtime loss to the Falcons, finished the 2019 season with 46 tackles (41 solo), one interception, three passes defensed and one forced fumble across 14 games.

The four-year veteran once again operated as a rotational safety for the majority of the season after logging his first defensive snaps in Week 5 against the Saints. Adams once again demonstrated sure tackling, but he wasn't able to come close to replicating his four-interception tally from 2018. The 27-year-old is headed toward unrestricted free agency at the start of the new league year in March, and it remains to be seen if the Buccaneers will be interested in bringing him back for a third season with the franchise or if he's able to get a starting opportunity somewhere on the open market.

Adams logged 62 defensive snaps overall and posted his second straight five-tackle effort while making a second straight start at strong safety.
