  • Zech McPhearson: Agrees to injury settlement with Rams

The Rams released McPhearson from IR with an injury settlement Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. McPhearson had been competing for a roster spot during the preseason before landing on injured reserve Aug. 24. That could have ended his campaign, but the injury settlement allows McPhearson to seek out a new contract and potentially play in 2026. The Texas Tech product was a fourth-round draft pick by Philadelphia in 2021 and played in 33 regular-season games (mostly on special teams) over his first two NFL campaigns but hasn't logged a regular-season snap since 2022.

  • Rams' Zech McPhearson: Placed on IR

McPhearson (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Rams on Monday. McPhearson signed with Los Angeles on Aug. 9, and he has recorded two total tackles over the team's two preseason contests to this point. The cornerback is now dealing with an undisclosed injury. He's set to miss the entirety of the 2026 campaign while on IR, unless he can reach an injury settlement with the Rams.

  • Eagles' Zech McPhearson: Recovered from Achilles injury

McPhearson said during a community event Saturday that he's "100 percent" recovered from his Achilles tear and that he'll be a full-go at the start of training camp, Andrew DiCecco of Inside the Birds reports. McPhearson missed all of last season after tearing his right Achilles during a preseason game. Prior to the injury, the cornerback had played in 33 of a possible 34 regular-season contests and in all four of the Eagles' playoff games during his first two years in the NFL. McPhearson was adamant Saturday that he's back to full health and will be ready to participate from the first day of training camp, despite sitting out of spring practices as part of a "strategic ramp-up regimen." The 26-year-old will be competing for a depth role in a crowded Eagles secondary.

  • Zech McPhearson: Waived/injured by Eagles

McPhearson (Achilles) was waived with an injury designation by the Eagles on Saturday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. McPhearson suffered a torn Achilles during Thursday's exhibition game against the Browns. He is expected to clear waivers and revert to Philadelphia's injured reserve. From there, McPhearson will focus on his recovery and returning for the 2024 campaign. The 2021 fourth-round pick played in all 17 regular-season games for the Eagles last season, primarily as a special teams contributor.
