  • Kawaan Baker: Cut by Green Bay

Baker was waived by the Packers on Monday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Baker will once again be placed on waivers after the Packers claimed him Aug. 12 following his departure from Las Vegas. The wide receiver failed to record any stats while playing 16 offensive snaps in the Packers' 20-7 preseason win over the Seahawks on Saturday. Baker will now look for another opportunity elsewhere, though he could stick around Green Bay as a member of the practice squad.

  • Packers' Kawaan Baker: Claimed by Green Bay

The Packers claimed Baker off waivers from the Raiders on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Baker played five offensive snaps in the Raiders' preseason opener against the Seahawks last Thursday but didn't draw a target. The Packers are dealing with all sorts of injuries in their wide receiver room, so Baker gives them a healthy body to get through camp and the preseason. He's never caught a regular-season pass in the NFL.

  • Kawaan Baker: Cut by Las Vegas

Baker was waived by the Raiders on Monday. Baker signed with the Raiders on Aug. 3, but he will now potentially be looking for another opportunity elsewhere. The move made room for Marquez Callaway, who was signed by the team Monday. If Baker clears waivers, it's certainly possible that he sticks around Las Vegas as a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Raiders' Kawaan Baker: Gets opportunity with Las Vegas

The Raiders signed Baker to a contract Sunday. Baker was not on an NFL roster for the entire 2024 season after being cut by the Patriots at the end of training camp. He'll get another opportunity with the Raiders, and while a spot on the 53-man roster is unlikely, a strong performance in training camp could lead to him sticking around on the practice squad. The 2021 seventh-rounder last saw regular-season action in his rookie campaign with the Saints, when he played 27 snaps on special teams across two games.

  • Kawaan Baker: Cut by New England

The Patriots waived Baker on Monday. Baker signed a reserve/future contact with the Patriots in February, but the team has now decided to part ways with the 26-year-old. Baker's only in-game action came in 2021 with the Saints, where he appeared in two games and failed to record a stat.

  • Patriots' Kawaan Baker: Headed to New England

Baker signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on Tuesday. The 25-year-old wideout will head to New England after spending the entirety of the 2023 campaign as a free agent. Baker last appeared in a regular-season game back in 2021 with the Saints.

  • Kawaan Baker: Won't make roster

New Orleans is waiving Baker, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Baker finished last season on the Saints' practice squad and signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January. He caught four of seven targets for 47 yards during exhibition action but won't make the initial 53-man roster. Baker is a candidate to remain with the organization as part of the practice squad.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Remaining with New Orleans

The Saints signed Baker to a reserve/future contract Thursday, per the team's official site. Baker has been through the wringer since entering the NFL in 2021, as he was let go by New Orleans, handed a six-game suspension for violating the league's PED policy, waived by the Seahawks, cut by the Packers, discharged from the Eagles' practice squad and finally recalled to the Saints' practice squad in that span. The 215-pound wide receiver is now in a position to compete for one of New Orleans' roster spots throughout the summer and into training camp.

  • Kawaan Baker: Done on Eagles' practice squad

Philadelphia cut Baker from its practice squad Tuesday. Less than a full week after Baker signed onto the Eagles' practice squad, the team has already decided to part ways with him. The 2021 seventh-rounder has great size (6-foot-1, 215 lbs.) and speed (4.43-second 40), but he has yet to see an offensive snap in his young NFL career. Now he'll have to look for another opportunity elsewhere.

  • Kawaan Baker: Stint in Green Bay over

The Packers cut Baker from their practice squad Tuesday. Baker was signed to Green Bay's practice squad back in mid-October, but he's since been let go after failing to make an appearance on the team's active roster. The 24-year-old will now await another opportunity to receive snaps elsewhere.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Suspended six games

Baker has been suspended six games for violating the league's PED policy, Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reports. Baker will be first available to return during the Saints' Week 7 clash against the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. After being selected 255th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by New Orleans, Baker spent his rookie season jumping back and forth between the team's active roster and practice squad, where he ultimately appeared in two games on special teams. Given the second-year receiver entered camp fighting for a roster spot, the near future doesn't present a clear path to targets for Baker, as the Saints have Michael Thomas (ankle) back, drafted Chris Olave 11th overall in this year's NFL Draft and signed Jarvis Landry back in May, not to mention Marquez Callaway and Tre-Quan Smith's established rapport in this offense.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Sticks with Saints

The Saints signed Baker to a reserve/future contract Monday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Baker was a seventh-round pick in the 2021 draft and spent the majority of the season on the Saints' practice squad. He was elevated to the active roster for two games and played entirely on special teams. Baker will have a chance to make the Saints' active roster in 2022 with a strong showing during offseason activities and training camp.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Elevated to active roster

The Saints elevated Baker from their practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. After making his season debut in Week 16, Baker will be elevated for a second straight game. In his first contest, the rookie seventh-round pick recorded one tackle while playing 16 snaps on special teams. He's expected to have a similar role in Week 17.

  • Kawaan Baker: Back to practice squad

Baker reverted to the Saints' practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log. Baker was a gameday elevation for Monday's loss to Miami and recorded one tackle while playing 16 snaps on special teams. He's now back on the practice squad heading into Week 17.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Elevated Monday

Baker was elevated from the Saints' practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Dolphins, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports. Baker will join the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement for Week 16. The 2021 seventh-rounder hasn't yet made his regular-season debut in the NFL, and he's unlikely to have a significant fantasy role Monday.

  • Kawaan Baker: Exits New Orleans

The Saints waived Baker on Tuesday. Baker was considered to have an outside shot at landing on New Orleans' 53-man roster but ultimately did not make the cut. Still, the Saints' seventh-round draft pick seems like a prime candidate to land on its practice squad should he ultimately go unclaimed on waivers.

  • Saints' Kawaan Baker: Opportunity getting bigger

Baker has an opportunity to see snaps early in the season with Michael Thomas (ankle) expected to miss at least the first four games, Katherine Terrell of The Athletic reports. While Tre'Quan Smith is primed to hold down the No. 1 role in Thomas' absence, Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris are the favorites to handle the No. 2 and 3 roles behind him. However, nothing is set in stone, and Baker easily could push Callaway and Harris for some sort of offensive role during training camp. In fact, if Baker can impress the coaching staff during this window of opportunity, it's not impossible that the South Alabama product is involved in the offense all season long.
