  • Sage Surratt: Gets cut loose

    Surratt (ankle) was waived from IR with any injury settlement Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Surratt was set to spend the 2024 campaign on injured reserve, but he'll now have the opportunity to suit up for another franchise once he can prove himself healthy. The Wake Forest product went undrafted in 2020 and has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he's found spring opportunities in the USFL and UFL since 2022.

    Surratt (ankle) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday after getting waived Tuesday, according to the NFL's official transaction log. The tight end will have to reach an injury settlement with the team to play in 2024. Surratt suffered the ankle injury during Arizona's preseason game against Denver on Sunday. He played his last college season in 2019 and has never appeared in an NFL game.

The former wide receiver turned tight end has yet to appear in an NFL game and will likely battle for a depth role on the Cardinals 53-man roster or practice squad as the preseason continues.
