  • Browns' Winston Reid: Signs deal with Cleveland

Reid signed his exclusive-rights free agent tender with the Browns on Tuesday. Reid will return to the Browns after entering the offseason as a free agent. The linebacker played in 16 regular-season games with Cleveland in 2024, recording 23 total tackles (15 solo), including 0.5 sacks, while also adding two passes defensed and a fumble recovery. Reid will likely operate as a depth option at middle linebacker behind Jordan Hicks (concussion) in 2025.

  • Browns' Winston Reid: Gets significant role Sunday

Reid recorded eight tackles (four solo) and two passes defensed during Sunday's 34-13 loss at Washington. After starter Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (undisclosed) left Sunday's contest early, Reid was thrust into the biggest role he's seen in his young career so far, and he filled in admirably. If both Owusu-Koramoah and Jordan Hicks (elbow) end up sitting out in Week 6, Reid would again be in line for an increased workload.

  • Browns' Winston Reid: Signed from practice squad

The Browns signed Reid to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com reports. Reid earns a spot on Cleveland's 53-man roster, which has linebackers Tony Fields (ankle) and Mohamoud Diabate (hip) on IR until at least mid-October. Sunday's matchup against Jacksonville will be telling as to Reid's role, but if he does play, it's probable he contributes mostly on special teams while holding down a reserve role on defense.
