  • Saints' Roderic Teamer: Signs with hometown team

Teamer is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Saints on Thursday, Matthew Paras of NOLA.com reports. Teamer, a New Orleans native and former Tulane standout, spent the last three seasons in Las Vegas but attended the Saints' rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp. He was waived by the Raiders back in November and also arrested for a DUI. Now, Teamer faces an opportunity to compete for a depth role at safety, where his ability to contribute on special teams could also come in handy.

  • Roderic Teamer: Attends Saints' minicamp

Teamer (hamstring) is receiving a tryout with New Orleans during minicamp this week, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Teamer was waived by the Raiders in November while dealing with the hamstring injury, but he was also arrested for a DUI just before his exit. The 27-year-old is now healthy and working to earn a roster spot somewhere in 2024, which could be in New Orleans depending on his performance during camp.

  • Roderic Teamer: Gets let go

Teamer (hamstring) was waived by the Raiders on Monday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports. Teamer has been out of action since Week 6 with a hamstring injury, although he was reinstated from IR on Saturday before ultimately being declared inactive for Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. The 26-year-old was arrested for a DUI early that morning, which likely played a part in him being inactive for the contest, and ultimately, in his release.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Taken off IR

The Raiders activated Teamer (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday, and he is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Teamer was a full participant in all three practices this week, a good indicator that he could make his return Sunday after sustaining the hamstring injury in Week 6 against the Patriots. He's mostly played on special teams and will likely resume that role should he be active for Sunday's contest.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Placed on IR

Teamer (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve by Las Vegas on Wednesday. Teamer suffered a hamstring injury in the Raiders' Week 6 win over the Patriots and he will now be forced to miss at least four games while on IR. In his absence, Isaiah Pola-Mao will likely see an increase in workload at backup safety for Las Vegas.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Productive in starting role

Teamer notched eight tackles (seven solo) during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Colts. Teamer played 100 percent of defensive snaps Week 17, after failing to surpass the 20-percent mark in his previous eight appearances. In the wake of Johnathan Abram's (shoulder) season-ending injury, Teamer once again looks positioned for an every-down role during Week 18's must-win matchup against the Chargers.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Lands in COVID-19 protocols

The Raiders placed Teamer (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday. Teamer's placement on the COVID-19 list is the result of a positive test, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Whether he's available Sunday against the Broncos remains to be seen, but Dallin Leavitt could take on a starting role if Teamer is sidelined.

The safety will return to his depth role in Las Vegas' secondary once he's activated to the Raiders' active roster.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Lands on IR

Teamer (shoulder) was placed on the Raiders' reserve/injured list Wednesday. Teamer injured his shoulder in the Raiders' Week 6 win over the Broncos. The Raiders have placed the safety on the injured reserve and have subsequently signed Desmond Trufant to fill the void in Las Vegas' secondary.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Absent from injury report

Teamer (shoulder) isn't on the injury report ahead of Monday night's game against the Chargers, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. Teamer missed the first three games of the year due to a shoulder injury, but he was a full participant in practice Saturday and will be available to make his season debut against the Chargers. The 24-year-old should serve as depth at safety now that he's back to full health.

  • Raiders' Roderic Teamer: Finds new home

Teamer inked a contract with the Raiders on Thursday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports. Teamer will reunite with his former defensive cordinator Gus Bradley, with Teamer having played for Bradley while he was with the Chargers. Teamer failed to see action in 2020, but he racked up 40 tackles (30 solo), one sack and an interception in seven games for the Chargers in 2019. The Tulane product joins a congested secondary unit, so it'll be tough for Teamer to crack the 53-man roster this offseason.

  • Roderic Teamer: Done in Indianapolis

The Colts waived Teamer on Friday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports. The decision to cut Teamer was likely influenced by Indianapolis' recent influx of UDFA signings. The former Tulane standout last saw NFL action with the Chargers in 2019, when he logged seven appearances.

  • Chargers' Roderic Teamer: Absence confirmed

Teamer (groin) is officially inactive for Sunday's home clash with Green Bay. Teamer came into the contest carrying a doubtful tag, so his absence isn't surprising. With the Tulane product officially out for the game, Desmond King and Jaylen Watkins are expected to play elevated roles in the Chargers' secondary for Week 9.

  • Chargers' Roderic Teamer: Sidelined Thursday

Teamer (groin) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice. Teamer was limited in Wednesday's practice, and he's now downgraded to being a non-participant. The Tulane product has played 100 percent of snaps on defense over the last six games. Desmond King and Jaylen Watkins would be candidates to play increased roles in Los Angeles' secondary if Teamer were forced to miss time.

  • Chargers' Roderic Teamer: Leads team in tackles Sunday

Teamer recorded eight tackles, a sack and a pass defensed across 82 snaps in Sunday's win over the Bears. Teamer has taken on a heavy workload since assuming the starting safety role. He has played 75 percent of the defensive snaps this season -- including 100 percent of the snaps over the past four games. He now has 39 tackles, a sack and an interception on the year, but he may face his toughest challenge this Sunday when the Packers come to town.

  • Chargers' Roderic Teamer: Continues to pile up tackles

Teamer tallied nine tackles (five solo) in the 20-13 loss Sunday to the Broncos. Teamer's been a relatively nice find in IDP leagues with both Derwin James (foot) and Adrian Phillips (forearm) on injured reserve, recording 18 tackles combined in three weeks since becoming the starter at safety. The rookie's coverage issues have been prominent, but against the Steelers, who could be starting third-string quarterback Devlin Hodges, Teamer could once again register a team high in tackles.

  • Chargers' Roderic Teamer: Nets seven tackles

Teamer recorded seven tackles (six solo) in the 27-20 loss Sunday to the Texans. The rookie struggled at times in coverage, but still managed to tie linebacker Thomas Davis for the team lead in tackles despite the uneven outing. It remains to be seen if Nasir Adderley or Jaylen Watkins will chip away at Teamer's playing time in the future, but for now the undrafted safety seems to have a grapple on the job vacated by Derwin James (foot) and Adrian Phillips (forearm).
