Todd Archer@toddarcher3D agoThe Cowboys have agreed to a one-year deal with OL Chuma Edoga. He played in just 2 games in ‘22 w/ Atlanta after a 3-year run w/ the Jets where he started 12 of 24 games. Viewed as an OT/OG type. Cowboys had interest in trade for him after Tyron Smith injury last year.

Calvin Watkins@calvinwatkins8D agoTyron Smith new deal from a person with knowledge of the contract: Smith gets one-year deal worth as much as $17 mil. $3 mil to sign and $3 mil base salary (guaranteed). His 2023 cap number is $8.005 mil. This move opens $9.6 mil in cap space. He has numerous playing incentives.

Todd Archer@toddarcher8D agoWhat will be Tyron Smith's role in 2023? Left tackle? Right tackle? Swing tackle? All of them? Sure. Smith's return gives the Cowboys better options they would not have had if they moved on from him. Doesn't mean they're set on the OL, but they are better protected.

While re-working of deal takes his base salary down, he could end up making more than scheduled $13.6m if he hits certain play-time levels.

Todd Archer@toddarcher8D agoTyron Smith has agreed to a re-worked contract that opens up cap space and keeps him around for a 13th year. Smith was set to make $13.6m in the final year of contract. Smith’s base salary will drop but he will be able to make up the money depending on how much he plays in '23.
