Miami signed Ellis to its practice squad Monday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
Ellis was set to miss the entire 2022 campaign after being placed on the Dolphins' injured reserve list in August, but he eventually agreed to an injury settlement with Miami and now has made his way back onto the practice squad. With Byron Jones (ankle) on the reserve/PUP list and Xavien Howard (groin) having missed Sunday's loss at the Jets, Ellis already could be on a short path to being elevated.
