Seahawks' Pierre Desir: Signing with Seahawks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir agreed Wednesday with the Seahawks on a one-year contract, Brady Henderson of reports.

The addition of Desir bolsters the Seahawks' depth at cornerback, with Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times noting that the move presumably makes it less likely that the team will consider signing free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman. In 12 games last season between the Jets and Ravens, Desir recorded 49 tackles and three picks.

Ravens' Pierre Desir: Elevated from practice squad
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir was elevated from the Ravens' practice squad Friday, Jamison Hensley of reports.

After starting eight of nine games with the Jets this season, Desir will now be eligible to suit up for the Ravens. The veteran will provide cornerback depth in Saturday evening's divisional-round matchup against the Bills.

Pierre Desir: Joins Baltimore's practice squad
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir signed with the Ravens' practice squad Saturday.

The veteran cornerback was cut by the Jets last week and will join the Ravens in advance of Week 12. Desir is only on the practice squad for now, but he could still be added to the active roster before Tuesday's matchup with the Steelers.

Ravens' Pierre Desir: Officially on Ravens
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir has officially joined the Ravens' active roster, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Desir was expected to sign with the team but needed to pass his COVID-19 testing first. He was cut by the Jets last week after recording 47 tackles (37 solo) across nine games. He is now expected to provide depth at cornerback for Baltimore.

Pierre Desir: Expected to sign with Baltimore
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir will sign with the Ravens once he passes COVID-19 testing, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Desir was cut by the Jets last week after starting eight games for the team and allowing 525 yards (13.5 yards per target) and four touchdowns in coverage. The 30-year-old cornerback will get a fresh start with a contender. Desir will simply add depth at the position, as Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters and Jimmy Smith are locked into starting roles. This move could become official before Thursday's game against the Steelers.

Pierre Desir: Cut loose by Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Jets waived Desir on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Desir started eight of nine games for the Jets this season and allowed 525 yards (13.5 yards per target) and four touchdowns in coverage. Those are uninspiring numbers, but he'll now get a chance for a fresh start elsewhere. A contending team with secondary troubles may take a flier on the 30-year-old corner.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Racks up 11 tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir had a team-high 11 tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 30-10 loss to Arizona.

Desir continues to deliver strong performances in the box score, even as his on-field impact remains minimal if not negative. Given how large of a cushion Desir is forced to give receivers in front of him to make up for his lack of speed in coverage, he should continue to get plenty of opportunities for tackles if opposing quarterbacks take the open underneath routes like Kyler Murray did for much of this game. He has 19 tackles over the past two games.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Scores pick-six in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir recorded eight tackles (seven solo) and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, in Thursday's 37-28 loss to the Broncos.

Desir is having a perplexing season, as he now sits alone atop the league's interception leaderboard with three but has also been one of the NFL's worst cornerbacks in coverage. He let a sure interception go right through his hands for a 48-yard Jerry Jeudy touchdown in the second quarter, but Desir came back with a nice interception along the sideline on the next drive, and he picked off rookie quarterback Brett Rypien again early in the fourth quarter, returning the latter interception for a 35-yard touchdown. Desir continues to get burned on the outside with regularity due to his subpar speed, but he's also able to lure quarterbacks into mistakes with his veteran savvy. On a Jets team with few viable healthy alternatives at his position, Desir's good qualities should keep him in a starting role despite his obvious deficiencies.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Redemption in Week 2
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir recorded two tackles and had an interception in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the 49ers.

Desir returned the interception 23 yards to set up a Jets field goal. He didn't start the game after being benched in the season opener, but Desir was called upon when Quincy Wilson exited with a concussion, and the veteran corner made the most of his opportunity to redeem himself.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Benched in opener
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir was benched for the second half of Sunday's 27-17 loss to Buffalo, finishing the game with six tackles (four solo).

The Bills scored all three of their touchdowns in the first half, as Desir was overmatched by the wide receiver duo of Stefon Diggs and John Brown. Desir spent the second half on the bench as a result of his poor play, and it remains to be seen whether the veteran cornerback can reclaim his starting job for the Week 2 matchup with the 49ers.

Jets' Pierre Desir: All clear Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (hamstring) wasn't listed on the team's injury report Wednesday.

Desir was nagged by the hamstring issue throughout camp, but, as evidenced by this news, he'll be ready to rock for Week 1. Now healthy, the former Colt is expected to handle a starting role at cornerback for Sunday's matchup against Buffalo.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Practicing without pads
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (hamstring) practiced without pads Sunday, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.

It's a positive sign Desir is back on the field after he missed nearly a week of practice with this hamstring injury. The 29-year-old cornerback dealt with hamstring and groin injuries last season, so the Jets aren't going to rush him back, as he's expected to start at cornerback in Week 1.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Sits out practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (hamstring) didn't practice Friday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Desir dealt with an assortment of injuries in 2019, and a hamstring injury kept him on the sidelines for four games. It's concerning that he's dealing with a hamstring injury again so early in training camp, but there's plenty of time to get healthy before the season opener against Buffalo on Sept. 13. The 29-year-old Desir is expected to start at cornerback immediately if he's indeed healthy.

Jets' Pierre Desir: Finds new home
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Jets on Sunday, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.

The 29-year-old was a cap-saving casualty by the Colts on Saturday, and he didn't have to wait long to find a new team. Desir took a step back in 2019, producing 50 tackles (38 solo), three interceptions and 11 pass breakups. The veteran will battle the likes of Brian Poole, Nate Hairston and Blessuan Austin for a starting role at the cornerback position in 2020.

Pierre Desir: Let go by Indy
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir was released by the Colts on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

It's a move that's billed as a cap-saving measure, as the Colts will gain $6.5 million in cap space with the transaction. The veteran cornerback's play fell off dramatically just a year after he signed a three-year extension, but he could be a valuable addition to another team in need of depth in the secondary.

Colts' Pierre Desir: Posts 11 pass breakups in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir recorded 50 tackles, 11 pass breakups and three interceptions over 12 games in 2019.

Desir made 11 starts in his sixth pro season, and he often lined up against opponents' No. 1 receivers. He allowed 8.3 yards per target and five touchdowns. Unless the Colts bring in additional competition, he figures to retain a starting role with Rock Ya-Sin and Kenny Moore (ankle) returning.

Colts' Pierre Desir: Ready to rock
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (groin) is officially active for Monday's game against the Saints.

Desir logged a full practice during Saturday's session leading into the contest, signaling he was recovering nicely from injury. Now that he's officially healthy, Desir is expected to be the team's top cornerback Monday with Kenny Moore (ankle) sidelined.

Colts' Pierre Desir: Officially questionable
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (groin) has been deemed questionable for Monday's game against the Saints.

After back-to-back limited practices, Desir was able to log a full workload Saturday, which indicates he is trending in the right direction. Fellow starting cornerback Kenny Moore (ankle) has already been ruled out, so the Colts will be spread pretty thin if Desir is also unable to go.

Colts' Pierre Desir: Nursing groin injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (groin) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

There's not yet any reason to suspect that Desir is in any danger of missing Monday's tilt against the Saints, and he'll have two more chances to upgrade his practice activity and avoid an injury designation entirely. If he's indeed cleared to suit up Week 15, the 29-year-old will face the difficult task of slowing down Michael Thomas.

Colts' Pierre Desir: Ready for TNF
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Desir (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and is expected to play Thursday against the Texans.

After a four-game hiatus, Desir was supposed to be a game-time call, but his full-speed work clears any doubts. The 29-year-old has been solid in coverage this year by allowing an 87.3 passer rating and just one touchdown, and he's expected to face a heavy dose of DeAndre Hopkins in this divisional contest.
