Texans' Bruce Ellington: Reels in six catches
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ellington caught six of seven targets for 63 yards and added a five-yard run during Sunday's 31-21 win over Arizona. He fumbled during the contest.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in Houston that is thriving in Deshaun Watson's absence, but Ellington might just fit the bill. Ellington has been targeted 24 times in the three games since Watson went down. The health of Braxton Miller and Will Fuller V, the latter who was out Sunday with a rib injury, have certainly been factors in Ellington's rise, but the production has been consistent enough on a week-to-week basis to take notice. Look for him to continue to develop rapport with Tom Savage in the weeks ahead.

Texans' Bruce Ellington: Will start Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ellington will start in place of the injured Will Fuller (ribs) in Week 11 against the Cardinals, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Ellington filled in nicely early in the season when Fuller missed time due to a collarbone injury, but had seen his role diminished once Fuller returned. Now, with Fuller sidelined at least one week, the 26-year-old Ellington has an opportunity to regain some of that lost value. He enters Sunday's game having been targeted 16 times, including three in the red zone, since Tom Savage took over for the injured Deshaun Watson (knee) two games ago.

Texans' Bruce Ellington: Primed for larger role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

With Will Fuller (ribs) expected to miss at least one game, Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said Wednesday that the team needs to get Ellington more looks, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Texans actually did a nice job in that regard the past two games, with Ellington drawing 17 targets on 80 pass attempts from Tom Savage. The 2014 fourth-round pick turned in his second-best stat line of the season in Sunday's 33-7 loss to the Rams, catching four of nine targets for 41 yards and a touchdown. With Fuller sidelined and DeAndre Hopkins likely to be shadowed by Patrick Peterson for most of the day Week 11 against the Cardinals, it isn't hard to imagine Ellington pushing for eight or more targets for a third straight week. Of course, the quality of those targets isn't nearly what it would be if Deshaun Watson (knee) were still the starting quarterback.

Texans' Bruce Ellington: Scores lone TD in Sunday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ellington caught four of eight targets for 41 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown in Sunday's 33-7 loss to the Rams.

Ellington's touchdown came on the very next play after Will Fuller departed the game and never returned with a rib injury. Fuller's injury opens the door for a larger role for Ellington, who's had 16 targets over the last two weeks since Tom Savage took over as the starting quarterback. We'll learn more about Fuller's injury after he undergoes X-rays on Monday.

Texans' Bruce Ellington: Receives season-high targets Week 9
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ellington caught three of eight targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Colts.

Unexpectedly, the Texans threw more than they ran Sunday, generating targets for all of their wideouts, including a season-high eight for Ellington. He's firmly planted as the team's No. 3 wide receiver, but with the loss of Deshaun Watson (knee), we never suspected Houston to throw the ball 44 times in what was a one-score game until late in the third quarter. The Texans will want to tilt toward the ground attack Week 10 against the Rams, but they may not have a choice but to repeat the high volume of throws against the league's top scoring offense.
