Bears' John Jenkins: Cleared for camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins (illness) was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Jenkins has been a journeyman during his NFL tenure, as he's been rostered on five teams in as many years. His quick return off the COVID list certainly big for him, as he's currently expected to start at nose tackle due to Eddie Goldman's decision to opt out for the year.

Bears' John Jenkins: Heading to COVID list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Bears placed Jenkins (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Over the past five years, Jenkins has been rostered by five organizations, totaling 55 tackles and one sack in 40 games. Prior to his diagnosis or recent contact with a COVID-positive person, he was slated to start at nose tackle for Eddie Goldman, who had opted out of the season. Fortunately for Jenkins, he has plenty of time to get healthy for the regular season.

Bears' John Jenkins: Returns to Chicago
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins signed a one-year contract with the Bears on Tuesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.

Jenkins put together a solid 2019 campaign, playing all 16 games, including five starts, with the Dolphins. The veteran defensive tackle previously played with the Bears in 2017 but largely went unnoticed, posting eight tackles in eight games with the franchise.

Dolphins' John Jenkins: Racks up 34 tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins notched 34 tackles (20 solo), one sack and one defended pass across 16 regular-season games in 2019.

Jenkins managed to play a full 16-game slate for the first time since 2013. The 30-year-old defensive end is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, and his 2019 campaign may serve to help buoy his value.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins racked up seven tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 41-24 loss to the Browns.

Jenkins' previous season high was just four tackles, while he also logged a season-high 55 defensive snaps in Week 12 against the Browns.

Dolphins' John Jenkins: First sack since 2015
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins made a sack in Sunday's loss to the Patriots.

Miami is Jenkins' fifth team in his seven-year career. He's making a positive impact in limited time, as he played just 46 percent of the team's defensive snaps in Week 2. The Dolphins are expected to be on defense a lot this season, however, so Jenkins may still finish with a decent stat line.

Giants' John Jenkins: Back with Giants
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins re-signed an undisclosed contract with the Giants on Tuesday.

Jenkins joined the Giants early in the 2018 season after he was waived by the Bears and was able to play seven games, logging just one quarterback hit. He will likely resume his role of working as a depth defensive lineman in 2019.

Giants' John Jenkins: Heading to Big Apple
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins signed a contract with the Giants on Tuesday, Michael Eisen of the Giants' official site reports.

Jenkins was released by the Bears this past weekend as they cut their roster down to 53. The defensive tackle has bounced around the league a bit, playing in 59 games with 23 starts for the Saints (2013-16), Seattle Seahawks (2016) and Bears (2017), recording 121 tackles (67 solo), six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Bears' John Jenkins: Agrees to contract with Bears
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Bears, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Jenkins split last season between New Orleans and Seattle, recording 13 tackles in nine games. He only has 62 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his four-year career, but at 350-plus pounds, he could be of use to Chicago's run defense in a depth role.

Jenkins, a former third-round selection, was released by the Saints on Tuesday. Now in Seattle, he may struggle to find playing time as the No. 5 defensive tackle on the depth chart.

John Jenkins: Released on Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jenkins was released by the Saints on Tuesday, Christopher Dabe of reports.

Jenkins was left off the active roster for this Sunday's win over the 49ers. Instead, rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins made his NFL debut after being sidelined for the first half of the season due to a broken fibula. In seven games with the Saints, Jenkins recorded 10 tackles. Tyeler Davison, Nick Fairley, David Onyemata, and Rankins all remain as defensive tackles on the active roster, leaving little room for Jenkins to receive reps. He'll now look to find his way onto a roster looking to bolster its defensive line.

Saints' John Jenkins: Should see increased playing time
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

With rookie DT Sheldon Rankins reportedly fracturing his fibula in Monday's practice, Jenkins will likely see an increase in playing time to start the season.

Jenkins, a pending free agent, appeared slated for a reserve role this season, with the Saints drafting Rankins with the 12th overall pick and spending big to acquire veteran Nick Fairley in free agency. With Rankins expected to miss 6-8 weeks, Jenkins will now likely start alongside Fairley in the Saints' 4-3 base defense. In his first three years in the league, Jenkins has posted decent tackle totals for his position, but with only 1.5 career sacks, he probably should not be expected to be a difference-maker in most IDP leagues.
