Dolphins' Ricardo Louis: Remaining in Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis (knee) re-signed with the Dolphins on a one-year deal Tuesday, Adam H. Beasley and Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

The wideout missed the entire 2019 season after blowing out his knee in the spring. He will now get an opportunity to compete for a spot in a crowded wide receiver room after the Dolphins signed DeVante Parker, Jakeem Grant and Allen Hurns to extensions in the fall.

Louis (knee) is set to spend the 2019 season on injured reserve.

Louis missed the entire 2018 season due to a neck injury, and is now set to miss his second straight year. The Auburn product will again focus on his recovery and set his sights on the 2020 season.

Dolphins' Ricardo Louis: Dealing with knee injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis is dealing with a knee injury, not a neck injury, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

There was speculation that Louis was still suffering from the neck injury that kept him sidelined for the entire 2018 campaign. Regardless, the Auburn product is ineligible to return for the 2019 season after not being able to get medical clearance from the Dolphins due to this possibly career-threatening injury.

Dolphins' Ricardo Louis: Missing another season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis (neck) has been placed on injured reserve, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Lous spent the entire 2018 campaign on injured reserve with the Browns while recovering from a neck injury. He then signed with Miami in April, but it turns out he wasn't able to get medical clearance from the team. The 2016 fourth-round pick seems to be dealing with a career-threatening injury.

Dolphins' Ricardo Louis: Latches on with Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis (neck) signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The 2016 fourth-round pick was released by Cleveland last week after missing the entire 2018 campaign with a neck injury. Louis previously played all 32 games his first two NFL seasons, catching 45 of 96 targets (47 percent) for 562 yards (5.9 YPT) without any touchdowns. The inefficient production suggests he'll have a tough time sticking around in the NFL, though terrible quarterback play in Cleveland undoubtedly was a major factor. Louis will compete with the likes of Brice Butler and Isaiah Ford for a spot at the bottom of Miami's wideout depth chart.

Ricardo Louis: Waived by Browns
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Browns waived Louis (neck) on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

A 2016 fourth-round pick, Louis made 12 starts in 32 games his first two NFL seasons, catching 45 of 96 targets (47 percent) for 562 yards (5.9 YPT) without any touchdowns. He then spent the entire 2018 campaign on injured reserve due to a neck injury, missing out on a chance to experience competent quarterback play for the first time in his pro career. Louis should find another opportunity to compete for a roster spot if he's able to gain medical clearance from the neck injury.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Misses all of 2018
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis (neck) spent the entire 2018 season on injured reserve, Nick Shook of the Browns' official website reports.

Louis had neck surgery last summer and was never expected to play in 2018. It isn't clear if the 2016 fourth-round pick will be able to resume his football career, as the Browns haven't provided an update on his progress. If he does end up playing, Louis will face tough competition for a roster spot on a team that now has Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Antonio Callaway and Rashard Higgins atop the depth chart at wide receiver.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Placed on IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis (neck) was placed on IR on Thursday.

Louis' placement on IR comes as no surprise after it was announced he needed surgery on his neck. His 2018 season comes to an end early on. He'll be looking to recover and return to action in 2019.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Will miss 2018 with neck injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis will miss the entire 2018 season while recovering from neck surgery, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Given the often career-threatening nature of neck injuries, it's unsurprising that the Browns quickly decided to rule Louis out for the next several months. Louis' role was likely to decline in 2018 with the addition of Jarvis Landry, but the injury now further dims his outlook with the Browns moving forward. He'll enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2019.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Quiet end to season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis, who failed to make a catch on two targets during Cleveland's Week 17 loss to the Steelers, finishes the season with 27 receptions for 357 yards.

Louis set career highs in receptions (27), targets (61) and yards (357), but ended the season as the Browns' fourth wideout behind Josh Gordon, Corey Coleman and Rashard Higgins. He hauled in just one pass over the final six games of the season, and will most likely have to battle for a roster spot in 2018.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Plays four snaps
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis played just four offensive snaps and finished without a catch or target during Sunday's 27-21 overtime loss to Green Bay.

Josh Gordon and Rashard Higgins have jumped past Louis on the depth chart, so much so that the second-year pro out of Auburn is having a tough time finding the field. The 23-year-old has just one reception over his past three games, and Sunday marked his second straight game without a target. Coach Hue Jackson has been fluid with his wide receivers all year long, so there's still hope Louis gets involved again, but his involvement would be limited to the No. 3 wideout spot if that should happen.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: No targets in Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis wasn't targeted in Sunday's 19-10 loss to the Chargers.

For the second straight week, Louis ended Sunday's contest without a reception, but unlike in Week 12, he wasn't targeted. He had already been losing out on snaps to Rashard Higgins, but now with Josh Gordon back in the mix, Louis had an even tougher time finding the field. The 23-year-old played just 12 snaps against the Chargers, which could be a trend for the remainder of the year.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: No catches in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis was held without a catch (two targets) during Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Bengals.

Louis has been the main victim of Corey Coleman's return from injured reserve. Since Coleman made his way back to the lineup, Louis has been able to haul in just a single catch on six targets. Not to mention the fact that Rashard Higgins also played more snaps than him for the second straight week, and with embattled receiver Josh Gordon set to make his season debut Sunday, Louis' production and field time should continue to fall dramatically.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Quiet in Coleman's return
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis caught just one pass on four targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 19-7 defeat to the Jaguars.

Louis definitely didn't benefit from Corey Coleman's return from injured reserve, as the 23-year-old's lone catch was his lowest total since Week 3. Meanwhile, Coleman saw a team-high 11 targets. Coleman's presence on the field should, in theory, draw coverage away from Louis, though that didn't seem to be the case Sunday. In fact, third-string wideout Rashard Higgins actually out-snapped Louis, and although Higgins failed to make any catches, it'll be interesting to see if this becomes a trend.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Targeted six times
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis caught two passes (six targets) for 15 yards during Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Lions.

Louis played 74 percent of Cleveland's offensive snaps, though he had a tough time getting in sync with DeShone Kizer (ribs). The 23-year-old accumulated his lowest receiving yards since Week 3 and has hauled in just four of his last 12 targets. He still remains the Browns' No. 1 wideout, and with the way Kizer looked Sunday, bigger things could be on the way for Louis.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Two receptions in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis grabbed two receptions (six targets) for 42 yards in Sunday's 33-16 loss to the Vikings.

Louis ended the day with only two receptions but still finished second on the team in receiving yards, as the majority of DeShone Kizer's throws were short, quick passes. The two did, however, hook up for a 37-yard gain down the left sideline for one of Cleveland's longest plays of the day. With Kenny Britt unable to find the field Sunday, Louis has emerged as the Browns' No. 1 receiver, though their inept offense has limited any production that would illustrate that. Regardless, Kizer has to throw the ball to someone, and Louis is one of his best options.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Plays 65 snaps Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis was on the field for 89 percent of the team's offensive snaps and hauled in three receptions (four targets) for 21 yards during Sunday's 12-9 overtime loss to the Titans.

From the way he's been dominating snaps over the past two weeks, Louis is the clear-cut No. 1 wideout in Cleveland, though Sunday was the receiver's second consecutive subpar week. But to be fair to Louis, it's hard to get in a rhythm and build a rapport with his quarterback when the person manning the position changes as frequently as it has over the past few weeks. Still, Louis is second on the team with 39 targets, and, if expectations are tempered, he could be worth a flier in deep leagues.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Subpar production in Week 6 start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis brought in three of seven targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 33-17 loss to the Texans.

Louis drew the start with Kenny Britt (knee/groin) out again, but he couldn't parlay the opportunity into any meaningful production. The 23-year-old had been on the rise coming into Week 6, as he'd posted 10 receptions for 135 yards over the previous two games. Despite the disappointing outcome Sunday, he'll look to bounce back against a vulnerable Titans secondary in Week 7, although a return to game action for Britt would presumably affect Louis' snaps and targets to a degree.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Another start Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis will again draw a start for the Browns on Sunday with Kenny Britt (knee/groin) inactive, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Louis was the team's leading receiver Week 5 against the Jets, and once again appears poised to play a meaningful role in the passing game. With Britt on the shelf due to both knee/groin ailments and overall ineffectiveness, the Browns may continue to lean on Louis, even with new quarterback Kevin Hogan under center. Through five weeks, Louis leads the Cleveland receivers in snaps (219), targets (28) and receptions (15), and that pattern should continue Sunday against a Houston defense that has given up five touchdowns to opposing wideouts on the year.

Browns' Ricardo Louis: Leads team in receiving Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Louis snagged a team-high five receptions (on eight targets) for 71 yards during Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Jets.

Louis was given the starting nod in place of Kenny Britt (knee/groin) and was one of the few bright spots on Cleveland's offense. Week 5 marked the second consecutive game in which Louis led the Browns in receiving yards and has emerged as one of the better threats on an otherwise offensively inept team. The 23-year-old wideout still hasn't crossed the pylons yet this season, but his 18 targets over the last two weeks are promising for his future production.
