  • Ravens' Taven Bryan: Moved to IR

The Ravens placed Bryan (knee) on injured reserve Thursday. Bryan will now need to miss at least four games while on IR before being eligible to return to the active roster. The rotational defensive end was unable to practice in any capacity during the week, and fellow defensive end Carl Lawson will likely see additional snaps in his stead for the foreseeable future.

  • Ravens' Taven Bryan: Won't face Bengals

Bryan (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's game against the Bengals. Bryan was unable to practice in any capacity during the week, so it's not surprising that he'll be inactive Thursday. Head coach John Harbaugh previously stated that Bryan was a candidate for injured reserve.

  • Ravens' Taven Bryan: Candidate for IR

Bryan (knee) is dealing with a knee injury which will likely require a stint on injured reserve, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Bryan recorded one tackle, including 0.5 sacks, in Sunday's 23-10 win over the Jets, but he appears to have suffered a knee injury in the process. The 29-year-old was a non-participant at the team's walkthrough to open the week Monday, per Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. Head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that the defensive lineman is a "short-term" IR situation, suggesting that he'll be able to return to action prior to the end of the regular season.

  • Taven Bryan: Fails to crack 53-man roster

The Bengals released Bryan on Monday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports. Bryan spent the two prior seasons with the Colts, where he served in a rotational role at defensive tackle. He signed with the Bengals before the start of training camp and finished the preseason with seven tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, across three games. Bryan will explore his next opportunities and will look to catch on with a team in need of depth in the interior defensive line.

  • Bengals' Taven Bryan: Reaches deal with Cincy

Bryan signed a one-year deal with the Bengals on Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Bryan spent the last two seasons playing as a rotational piece on the Colts' defensive line, totaling 42 tackles and 3.0 sacks while appearing in all 34 regular-season games over that span. The 29-year-old was a first-round pick for the Jaguars in 2018, and he's never played fewer than 15 regular-season games in his career. Bryan will add some veteran depth behind presumptive starting defensive tackles B.J. Hill (foot) and Tedarrell Slaton.

  • Colts' Taven Bryan: Logs mostly rotational role in 2024

Bryan ended the regular season with 20 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, a defensed pass and a fumble recovery over 17 games during the regular season. Bryan started on defense in Weeks 2-7 but reverted to a rotational role and didn't log more than 34 percent of the Colts' defensive snaps in any game thereafter. He's been a reliably healthy player throughout his career, playing in all 17 regular-season games each of the past two seasons and never missing more than two contests in any of his seven NFL campaigns, but his production and role haven't warranted IDP consideration. Bryan is set to be an unrestricted free agent upon the beginning of the offseason.

He should handle a similar depth role on the team's defensive line in 2024.
