Woods submitted his retirement paperwork Monday, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.
It's a surprising move by the undrafted rookie safety, who ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.29) in March's combine. The Jaguars roster now sits at 89 as they head into training camp.
Woods signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent Monday.
Woods, out of Ole Miss, was projected to be drafted as high as the third round, but will instead settle for a UDFA deal with the Jags. He figures to compete with fellow undrafted signee Andrew Wingard for a reserve role at free safety.
