  • Patriots' Matthew Judon: Out for months after surgery

Judon (biceps) is scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss at least two months, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Judon underwent an MRI on Monday that confirmed he suffered a right lower bicep tendon tear in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Cowboys. With rest and rehab not deemed a viable option, Judon will go under the knife, and the Patriots will have a clearer idea following the procedure whether or not the star edge rusher will be able to play again this season. A two-month absence would keep Judon sidelined until around Week 15.

  • Ravens' Matt Judon: Given boot from AFC North clash

Judon has been ejected from Sunday's matchup against the Steelers for contacting an official, Dianna Russini of ESPN reports. Judon's contact was not malicious by any means, as he was seemingly trying to free his arm from an opposing player's grasp when he bumped the referee. Judon has recorded eight QB hits and two sacks over his past three appearances, but the Ravens will have to proceed without him for the remainder of Sunday's contest.

  • Ravens' Matt Judon: Ok with being tagged

Judon doesn't mind the franchise tag, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. "I'm pleased to be tagged," Judon said "I feel like only a few players get to go through this in their lifetime. As much as I want stability in the future, I'm proud of where I'm at and where I came from." Judon signed the franchise tender in late May, ending any speculation about a potential holdout. He presumably prefers to sign a long-term contract before the July 15 deadline, but it doesn't sound like he's in any rush to agree to a team-friendly deal. The 2016 fifth-round pick is scheduled to make $16.8 million under the franchise tag, following a 2019 campaign with career highs for sacks (9.5), QB hits (33) and forced fumbles (four). The raw numbers were impressive, but PFF charted Judon with an NFL-high 56 percent of his pressures coming on plays where he was either unblocked or "cleaning up" for another pass rusher. He appears to have benefited considerably from playing in a blitz-happy defense with an excellent secondary.
