Kessel logged an assist and a team-high seven shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Islanders. Kessel and Jack Eichel led the charge with seven shots each, while the Golden Knights put up 45 shots against Semyon Varlamov. The 35-year-old Kessel had the secondary helper on William Carrier's tally in the second period. With three goals and four assists over 12 outings in January, this was Kessel's best month of the season. He's up to nine tallies, 12 helpers, 99 shots on net, 20 PIM and a minus-10 rating through 51 appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Scores lone goal on power play

Kessel scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Coyotes. Kessel capitalized on his only shot in the game, and his goal was all the Golden Knights could put past Coyotes goalie Karel Vejmelka. The 35-year-old winger has shown some improvement with five points through nine games in January. Kessel remains in a bottom-six role, and he hasn't been able to make up for that with an outsized performance on the power play, where he's earned six of his 19 points through 48 contests overall.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Supplies assist in loss

Kessel recorded an assist and four shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers. Kessel has found a groove on offense lately, logging four points over his last four games. The 35-year-old winger helped out on a Paul Cotter tally in the second period of this contest. For the season, Kessel has mainly struggled in a bottom-six role, producing seven goals, 11 helpers, 81 shots on net and a minus-9 rating through 44 contests.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Contributes helper in loss

Kessel provided an assist in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Kings. Kessel has picked up three points over his last two games. The 35-year-old winger is up to seven tallies, 10 helpers, 76 shots on net, 18 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 42 appearances. While he's in a third-line role with power-play time, he tends to be near the bottom of the list when it comes to ice time for Vegas skaters.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Goal and assist in win

Kessel scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, went plus-2 and logged two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Penguins. Kessel did some damage against one of his former teams. The 35-year-old opened the scoring at 1:52 of the first period and also set up a Paul Cotter tally in the third. Those two forwards worked alongside William Karlsson on a new-look third line that found instant success, addressing a significant weak spot in the Vegas lineup. The goal was Kessel's first since Dec. 15, and he's up to 16 points, 76 shots, 18 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 41 contests this season.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Notches assist Wednesday

Kessel provided an assist, fired three shots on goal and added two PIM in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Ducks. December has been Kessel's best month as a Golden Knight so far, but he's still produced a middling six points and a minus-7 rating in 14 contests. For the season, the veteran winger is up to 14 points, 69 shots, 14 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 38 appearances. Injuries briefly opened the door for Kessel to see a larger role, but Michael Amadio has since seized the opportunity instead.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Picks up power-play helper

Kessel logged a power-play assist and three shots on goal in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Coyotes. Kessel has two points and a minus-3 rating in his last four games. He was recently moved up to the top line for a brief spell, but he's been back in a bottom-six spot for the last two contests. The 35-year-old's at six tallies, seven helpers, 62 shots on net and a minus-11 rating in 35 appearances, so fantasy managers can likely find better offense on the waiver wire.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Nets insurance marker

Kessel scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks. Kessel began the game on the third line, but he moved up to the top line after Paul Cotter (upper body) exited the contest. In the third period, Kessel tallied his sixth goal of the season to give Vegas a 3-1 lead. He snapped a five-game point drought and now has 12 points, 54 shots, 10 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 32 outings overall. If Cotter misses time, Kessel seems like the logical choice to join the top six.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Three points in last two games

Kessel scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings. He nabbed the goal after he popped out of penalty box, took a long pass from Nicolas Roy and scored on a breakaway. Kessel has three points in his last two games but just 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 26 games overall. He's far off his 52-point pace from last season and hasn't been the sleeper pick that many people thought on the draft floor. There's still time for Kessel to rebound, but he needs to prove it before you pull him off the wire.

Kessel produced a power-play assist, three shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Penguins. Kessel set up Reilly Smith's first-period marker. The assist was Kessel's first power-play point since Nov. 5. The 35-year-old winger is up to four goals, five helpers (four on the power play), 44 shots on net, eight PIM and a minus-6 rating through 25 outings.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Tallies in Friday's loss

Kessel scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Kessel snapped a five-game point drought with the tally. While he's listed on the third line, the Golden Knights' forward usage has seen Kessel playing in essentially a fourth-line role of late. The winger is up to four goals, four assists, 39 shots on net and a minus-2 rating in 22 appearances, so his fantasy appeal will remain limited to deep formats.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Kept quiet on milestone night

Kessel had three shots on goal in his 1,000th consecutive game, a 4-1 win over the Coyotes on Thursday. Kessel has started to show some offense in November with two goals and two assists in eight games this month. He wasn't able to do anything on his milestone night Thursday. The 35-year-old winger has seven points, 33 shots and a minus-1 rating through 18 contests as he continues to be the NHL's all-time ironman.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Goals in back-to-back games

Kessel scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Blues. Kessel has a goal in each of the last two games, and he's picked up four points in his last five. The 35-year-old appears to be settling into his third-line role -- and the corresponding limited ice time -- after struggling for much of October. He's up to three goals, seven points, 30 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 16 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Scores in Thursday's win

Kessel scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Sabres. Kessel has gotten on the scoresheet in three of his last four games, matching his production from all of October. The winger is up to two tallies, four helpers, 28 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-1 rating through 15 contests. He remains on the third line, so his offense isn't likely to spike unless he gets in a groove on the power play.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Helps out on power play

Kessel notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Canadiens. Kessel logged a power-play helper for the second game in a row. The veteran winger has earned three of his five points with the man advantage this year. He's added 25 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-2 rating through 13 contests. Despite the uptick recently, he's still on the third line at even strength and the second power-play unit, which isn't a recipe for long-term scoring success.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Puts up power-play helper

Kessel registered a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Senators. Kessel had the secondary helper on a Reilly Smith goal in the first period. The assist ended Kessel's three-game point drought -- he hadn't gotten on the scoresheet since setting the NHL ironman record Oct. 25. The 35-year-old winger has four points, 24 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-1 rating through 12 contests. He saw a season-low 9:15 of ice time Thursday, and he's been seeing third-line minutes at even strength lately, so he's not a particularly intriguing option in fantasy at this stage.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Sets ironman record, scores goal

Kessel scored his 400th career goal in his 990th consecutive game, a 4-2 win over the Sharks on Tuesday. Kessel's ironman streak is now the longest in NHL history. He celebrated the occasion with his first goal as a Golden Knight 15:51 into the first period. The 35-year-old winger has three points, 16 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating in eight contests this season. He'll be rewriting the history book with every subsequent game he plays without missing time. Kessel would play his 1,000th consecutive game Nov. 17 against his former team, the Coyotes.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Ties ironman record

Kessel logged a power-play assist while playing in his 989th consecutive game, a 3-1 win over the Maple Leafs on Monday. Kessel tied Keith Yandle's ironman record when the former was included in the starting lineup for Monday's game. It didn't take long for Kessel to be rewarded, though a review overturned a goal -- which would have been the 400th of his career -- early in the first period. He then had the secondary assist on a Nicolas Roy tally. Kessel hasn't meshed all that well with his new Vegas teammates in 2022-23, logging two assists, 13 shots on goal and four PIM through seven contests. His struggles have seen him moved to the third line and second power-play unit recently.

  • Golden Knights' Phil Kessel: Serves up assist

Kessel notched an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Kraken. Kessel set up Shea Theodore for the Golden Knights' fifth goal of the contest. The assist was Kessel's first point in three games for his new team, as he's gotten off to a somewhat slow start. He's added seven shots on net and four PIM, and his average ice time of 13:51 suggests that he's more of a middle-six winger with Vegas rather than a true top-line option.
