Senators' Claude Giroux: Signs with Ottawa
Giroux signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the Senators on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Giroux remained a high-end contributor during his age-34 season in 2021-22, racking up 21 goals and 65 points through 75 regular-season contests split between the Flyers and the Panthers before adding eight points through 10 playoff appearances with Florida. Giroux's production may fall off a bit on an Ottawa team that has yet to finish its rebuild, but as long as he's able to stay relatively healthy, he should still produce at least 20-plus goals and 55-plus points while skating in the Senators' top six and receiving significant power-play time in 2022-23.

He tied the game at 2-2 at 8:18 of the third period, set up Aleksander Barkov on a go-ahead goal six minutes later and fed Carter Verhaeghe for the game-winner in overtime. Through six playoff games, Giroux's racked up three goals, four assists, nine shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-5 rating. He'll look to keep things rolling in the second round.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Practicing Monday
Giroux (rest) took part in Monday's practice session, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Giroux slotted into a spot on the second line with Jonathan Huberdeau and Sam Bennett after having sat out the Panthers' last two games. Prior to his absence, the 34-year-old center racked up 18 points in his last 12 outings, including two goals and seven helpers with the man advantage. If Florida makes a deep run into the playoffs, the addition of Giroux could go down as the best move at the trade deadline this year.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Five-point weekend
Giroux had two assists -- one on the power play -- in Sunday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay.
Giroux has five points in his last two games, but his contributions were far from enough to keep pace with the locked-in Lightning offense in this one. To Giroux's credit, he managed to avoid most of the damage defensively, finishing the game with an even rating.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Scoring success continues
Giroux scored a goal and added two assists in a 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Giroux tied it 2-2 at 14:54 of the second period with a slap shot on the power play. It was his first goal in seven games. He has 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) in 16 games in Sunrise after putting up 42 in 57 in Philly. Giroux seems to have found new life in Florida, away from the pressures of wearing the C. Panthers' fans will be hoping he can channel the scoring success he had in the 2011-12 playoffs when he delivered 21 points in 23 games.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Distributes three assists
Giroux notched three assists and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 6-1 win over the Jets.
Giroux set up both of Jonathan Huberdeau's first-period tallies and another goal by Gustav Forsling late in the second. Since joining the Panthers at the trade deadline, Giroux has leveled up his offense with two goals and 13 helpers in 12 outings. The 34-year-old forward has 57 points, 185 shots on net, 62 hits and a minus-5 rating in 69 appearances when accounting for his time with the Flyers this year, but he's been a plug-and-play option in fantasy lately.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Two key points in comeback win
Giroux had a goal, a power-play assist and seven shots in Tuesday's 7-6 overtime win over the Maple Leafs.
Giroux cut Toronto's lead to 5-4 late in the second on a goal assisted by Jonathan Huberdeau, then he returned the favor on Huberdeau's game-tying marker early in the third. While he was the main man in Philadelphia, Giroux can work as an elite ancillary option in the league-best Florida offense while letting the likes of Jonathan Huberdeau (five points) and Aleksander Barkov (four points) carry the load on a nightly basis.

Panthers' Claude Giroux: Two apples make purrfect debut
Giroux had two assists in his Panthers' debut Thursday in a 4-3 win over the Canadiens.

He helped set up an Aleksander Barkov goal just 36 seconds into the game, and then helped with a Sam Reinhart power-play marker at 7:20 of the third. Giroux is now part of what is arguably the top offense in the NHL, and that means a fantasy upgrade.
