  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Scores goal No. 10

Eller scored his 10th goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Islanders. The veteran center flipped a shot from the blue line toward Ilya Sorokin late in the second period that deflected off a New York defender and into the net. Eller's prowess on faceoffs -- he won nine of 14 on Tuesday -- has earned him consistent power-play time of late, but his spot on a checking line at even strength still limits his fantasy upside. He hasn't produced a multi-point game since Jan. 4, and over the last 10 contests Eller has three goals and five points.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Gets goal in 1,000th NHL game

Eller scored a goal Saturday in a 3-2 overtime win over Montreal. It made his 1,000th NHL game especially memorable. Eller is the first player born in Denmark to play 1,000 NHL games. He's the ninth player to score at least one goal in the first and 1,000th game of his career, joining Marian Gaborik, Milan Hejduk, Alex Kovalev, Evgeni Malkin, Joe Nieuwendyk, Gilbert Perreault, Jean Ratelle and Luc Robitaille. Eller has two goals in his last three games, but his 15 points in 46 games should keep him on the wire.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Two-point effort in win

Eller delivered a goal and an assist in Thursday's 6-5 win over the Bruins. He helped set up Drew O'Connor for Pittsburgh's first goal of the night about five minutes into the first period, and O'Connor then returned the favor late in the frame. Eller is beginning to emerge from a deep slump -- over a 21-game stretch from mid-November through late December, he managed only two points (both goals), but he's now produced two multi-point performances in the last three contests. The 34-year-old's spot on the third line doesn't afford him a high fantasy ceiling, but Eller's capable of more than the seven goals and 13 points he's managed through 37 games to begin the season.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Scores twice in win

Eller tallied a pair of goals in Sunday's 3-1 victory over the Islanders. Eller opened the scoring early in the first period, burying a feed from Jansen Harkins on the rush, before capping the scoring with an empty-netter in the third. The 34-year-old Eller came into Sunday's matchup with just one point in his last 15 games. He's up to six goals and 11 points through 35 contests in a middle-six role with Pittsburgh this season.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Expected to play despite illness

Eller didn't practice Monday due to illness but is still expected to face the Coyotes on Tuesday, Pens Inside Scoop reports. Eller has been a mainstay on the Penguins' third line this season despite being mired in a seven-game pointless streak. In fact, the veteran center has just one point in his last 13 outings while recording 21 shots and averaging 14:43 of ice time per game in that span. Unless there is an injury to Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin, Eller shouldn't be expected to move into a top-six role any time soon.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Light lamp in Buffalo

Eller scored a goal in Friday's 5-3 road loss against the Sabres. Eller notched a goal at 16:44 of the second period, giving the Penguins a 2-0 lead through two periods. He ended up with three shots on goal, two blocked shots and two faceoff wins on seven attempts in 14:26 of ice time. The 34-year-old pivot snapped a five-game scoreless streak with the marker.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Nets shorthanded marker

Eller scored a shorthanded goal in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings. Eller picked off a pass and went the other way, scoring at 18:03 of the second period. He's managed two goals and two assists over his last six contests. For the season, the third-line center is up to six points, 28 shots on net, eight blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating. While he's seeing very little power-play time, he can still be productive in a more defensively-tilted role.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Generates assist

Eller contributed an assist, three shots on goal and four PIM in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Ducks. Eller has picked up a pair of assists over the last three games, with both helpers coming against Anaheim. The 34-year-old center has produced a goal, four helpers, 27 shots on net, seven blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-3 rating. After he managed just 23 points in 84 contests last season, his worst offensive pace since 2010-11, he appears to be on his way to a bounce-back campaign in 2023-24 as the Penguins' third-line center.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Scores goal in rout

Eller scored a goal on four shots in Thursday's 4-0 victory over Colorado. Eller was able to find the back of the net for the first time this season despite having averaged 2.9 shots through the opening seven contests. Known more for his defensive work, Eller should continue to fill a third-line role for the Penguins while putting plenty of shots on net.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Grabs first point with Pittsburgh

Eller notched an assist in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks. Although Eller picked up a helper in his Penguins debut, the veteran center was limited to just 23 points despite playing in 84 games for the Capitals and the Avalanche last season, so Tuesday's performance shouldn't be viewed as a sign of things to come. Eller likely won't see much in the way of power-play ice time this season, which will limit his offensive upside.

  • Penguins' Lars Eller: Joining Penguins

Eller signed a two-year, $4.9 million contract with Pittsburgh on Saturday, according to PuckPedia. Eller contributed 10 goals, 23 points, 93 hits and 42 blocks in 84 contests between Washington and Colorado last season. The 34-year-old is expected to serve in a bottom-six capacity with the Penguins.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Good to go Saturday

Eller (undisclosed) is expected to play in Saturday's Game 3 versus the Kraken, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Eller missed the last half of the third period of Game 2 on Thursday, but it appears he's ready to play two days later. The 33-year-old will be in his customary third-line role. He's gone three games without a point.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Game-time call

Eller (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Saturday for Game 3 against Seattle, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Eller took part in Colorado's morning skate Saturday after leaving Thursday's 3-2 win over the Kraken in the third period. He notched three goals and seven points in 24 games with the Avalanche during the regular season after being acquired in a trade with Washington on March 1.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Labors after crash into boards

Eller (undisclosed) didn't play after taking a hard crash into the boards in the third period of Thursday's Game 2 versus the Kraken, Jesse Montano of DNVR Sports reports. It took Eller some time to get up and move to the bench, where he remained for the rest of the game. He didn't retreat to the locker room, which is a silver lining, but it's possible the injury could get worse before Saturday's Game 3 in Seattle. He should be considered day-to-day until further information is provided.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Draws helper Saturday

Eller logged an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Kings. Eller has just two points over his last 10 games. He has played a fairly quiet role as the Avalanche's third-line center since the trade deadline. For the season, Eller has produced 21 points, 129 shots on net, 93 hits, 46 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 80 appearances between Colorado and Washington.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Finds twine in loss

Eller scored a goal on four shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Wild. Eller snapped a five-game point drought with his third-period tally. The center has been limited to four points through 16 outings with the Avalanche. It's been a difficult season overall for the 33-year-old, who has 20 points, 126 shots, 91 hits and 44 PIM through 76 appearances between Colorado and Washington.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Starts contributing

Eller scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 win over Detroit. He added one hit and two penalty minutes over 12:24 of ice time. A rebound of a Valeri Nichushkin shot found Eller's stick, and he controlled it then changed the angle to beat Ville Husso for his second consecutive game with a tally. Eller, who joined Colorado 10 games ago, made his presence felt during the team's four-game road trip. The third-line center had two goals and an assist.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Goals stands upon review

Eller scored a goal on one shot over 13:33 of ice time in Thursday's 5-4 win over Ottawa. Eller scored his first since being acquired by the Avalanche, but the tally had to withstand added scrutiny. The Senators first thought it was icing, but that was not called. Then goalie Mads Sogaard appeared to have covered the puck, but only for a brief moment, giving Eller, who did not hear a whistle, the chance to bang it into the net. The goal stood, and the Avs had a 5-2 lead. He's beginning to establish a comfort level with his new team, as head coach Jared Bednar noted to Evan Rawal of the Colorado Hockey Now following last week's win over Arizona, Eller's sixth game with Colorado.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: In lineup after acquisition

Eller had one shot on goal over 14:28 of ice time in Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Devils. Eller, who was acquired by Colorado on Wednesday, made it to the arena in time to play in the evening's game. Given the circumstances, it's not surprising he wasn't at his best, but the rest of the team can't fall back on a long day of travel. The 33-year-old skated as the third-line center, which resulted in that position's previous occupant, Alex Newhook, moving to wing on the second line. Eller is expected to remain in a bottom-six role while being strong on faceoffs and having a role on the penalty-kill unit.

  • Avalanche's Lars Eller: Traded to Colorado

Eller was traded from Washington to the Avalanche in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. Eller has drawn into 60 games with the Capitals this season, picking up seven goals and 16 points while averaging 15:14 of ice time. Eller will likely serve as a bottom-six option and a penalty killer for Colorado, so don't expect a significant boost in his offensive production down the stretch.
