Panthers' Michael Del Zotto: Signs two-way contract with Florida
Del Zotto signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Panthers on Sunday.
Del Zotto was bought out by the Senators with one year remaining on his two-year deal earlier in July. Even if the 32-year-old is able to secure a full-time spot on Florida's NHL roster, it's unlikely he'd offer more than mid-range fantasy value given his limited offensive upside.... See More ... Michael Del Zotto: Bought out by Sens
Del Zotto was waived by Ottawa on Tuesday in order for the team to buy out his contract, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
Del Zotto has played for eight different clubs over the course of his 13-year NHL career and appears set to find a new home next year after Ottawa opted against keeping him for the final year of his contract. Even if the blueliner can secure a full-time gig as a regular starter next season, he will be hard-pressed to offer more than mid-range fantasy value given his limited offensive upside.... Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Hits waivers
Del Zotto was waived on Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Del Zotto will join AHL Belleville after presumably clearing waivers. The 31-year-old vet has picked up 13 points through 26 top-level appearances this year.... See More ... See Less
Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Joins active roster
Del Zotto was promoted from AHL Belleville on Monday.
Del Zotto has racked up 27 points through 26 AHL games this season. Ottawa wasn't able to find a trade partner for the veteran blueliner, so he'll likely finish out the year at the NHL level. He's averaging 17:16 of ice time with six points in 10 appearances with the Senators this season.... See More ... See Less
Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Assigned to AHL affiliate
Del Zotto was demoted to AHL Belleville on Thursday.

Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Recalled to active roster
Del Zotto was called up to the Senators' active roster Monday.
Del Zotto hasn't suited up at the NHL level since Nov. 27 versus the Kings in which he scored a goal on three shots. While the defenseman has been limited to just 10 appearances for the club this year, he has been rather productive in those contests with two goals and four assists.... See More ... See Less
Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Waived Friday
Del Zotto landed on the waiver wire Friday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Del Zotto has been a healthy scratch in five straight contests, so some time in the minors should provide him the opportunity to log significant minutes. Considering the blueliner has 720 games of NHL experience over a 13-year career, he could draw some interest from clubs around the league.... See More ... See Less
Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Plucks apple on power play
Del Zotto recorded a power-play assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 7-5 loss to the Avalanche.
Del Zotto has been a more steady presence in the lineup in November, appearing in seven of the Senators' last nine games. The Ontario native has picked up five points, including two on the power play, in nine contests. He's added 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating -- he's always had a physical edge and decent scoring ability, but it's not likely to be enough to interest fantasy managers.... See More ... Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Nabs first two points of 2021-22
Del Zotto had two assists along with two hits and two blocks in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Wild.
Appearing in just his third game of the year, Del Zotto pocketed his first two points with helpers on second-period goals by Drake Batherson and Chris Tierney. It was a nice performance by Del Zotto, but the 31-year-old's most impactful fantasy days are well in the rearview mirror.... See More ... See Less
Senators' Michael Del Zotto: Inks deal with Ottawa
Del Zotto signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Senators on Wednesday.
Del Zotto appeared in 53 games with the Blue Jackets last year, notching 13 points and 125 hits while averaging 17:53 of ice time per game. The 31-year-old was a productive power-play option earlier in his career, but he hasn't regularly seen time with the man advantage in the last three seasons. He'll provide veteran depth and leadership on the Senators' blue line, but he's unlikely to make much of a splash for fantasy managers.... See More ... See Less
Blue Jackets' Michael Del Zotto: Picks up two helpers Monday
Del Zotto recorded two assists in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Predators.
He helped set up Emil Bemstrom for the first two tallies in the young forward's natural hat trick in the third period. Del Zotto had gone seven games without a point prior to Monday, not a surprising drought for a blueliner with only four goals and 13 points through 50 contests.... See More ... See Less
Blue Jackets' Michael Del Zotto: Dishes assist in loss
Del Zotto recorded an assist in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Stars.
Del Zotto set up Jack Roslovic's tally in the first period. The 30-year-old Del Zotto also saw one of the Stars' goals deflect off of him before finding twine, so Thursday was a mixed bag for the defenseman. He has 11 points, 96 hits, 41 blocked shots, 62 shots on goal and a plus-11 rating through 42 appearances this year.... See More ... See Less

Del Zotto got the Blue Jackets on the board less than six minutes into the second period, jumping into a rush and beating Sergei Bobrovsky with a backhander to cut Florida's lead to 2-1. It was the second goal of the year for Del Zotto and his first since Feb. 11, halting a 10-game point drought in the process. The veteran defenseman has seven points and a solid plus-8 rating in 26 games this season.... See More ... See Less

Del Zotto registered both of his points during the game's final three minutes, erasing Columbus' 5-4 deficit while putting an end to his eight-game point drought in the process. Del Zotto jumped on a rebound off the crossbar and hammered a shot from the left faceoff dot to tie the game with 2:41 remaining, then set up Kevin Stenlund's game-winner 87 seconds later. He also tied for the team lead in shots and finished second in hits.... See More ... See Less
Blue Jackets' Michael Del Zotto: Officially signs in Columbus
Del Zotto signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets on Sunday.

The 30-year-old blueliner averaged 18:43 of ice time over 49 games with the Ducks last season, recording 15 goals, 101 hits and 55 blocked shots. Del Zotto will add veteran depth on the blue line and likely will play sparingly this season.... See More ... See Less
Blue Jackets' Michael Del Zotto: Signs PTO with Columbus
Del Zotto will attend the Blue Jackets' training camp on a professional tryout offer, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports.
Del Zotto appeared in 49 games with the Ducks last season, posting 15 points and a plus-5 rating while averaging 18:43 of ice time per contest. If he's able to earn a contract during training camp, Del Zotto will likely be nothing more than a rotational depth option for Columbus in 2020-21, so he won't be a useful fantasy option.... Ducks' Michael Del Zotto: Posts 15 points in 49 games
Del Zotto finished 2019-20 with two goals and 13 assists in 49 games.
Del Zotto's return to Anaheim after departing briefly last year to win a Cup with St. Louis didn't amount to much excitement. MDZ hasn't offered attractive fantasy production since 2014-15's 32-point effort in 64 games with Philadelphia, and his lack of shooting (57 SOG) and power-play time (47 seconds on average) this season didn't exactly help. He dished out 101 hits, though, so if your league rewards physicality -- and 0.31 points per game from the back end is of use -- go ahead and take a look at the veteran next year.... See More ... Del Zotto recorded an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Senators.
Del Zotto had the secondary helper on Nicolas Deslauriers' second of three goals in the first period. The 29-year-old Del Zotto has four assists and 17 hits in his last nine outings. The defenseman is up to 15 points, 100 hits, 55 blocks and a plus-6 rating in 48 appearances overall. That production could help in deep fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less
