The 30-year-old center showed promise early in his career, including a 48-game stint with the Canadiens back in 2017-18 but hasn't been able to break into the NHL since and should be expected to spend the bulk of the year in the minors.... Flames' Byron Froese: Deposits first goal in three years
Froese scored a goal, doled out three hits and added two PIM in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Jets.
Froese tipped in a Juuso Valimaki shot-pass at 13:34 of the second period to put the Flames ahead 2-1. The 29-year-old Froese hadn't scored since March of 2018 -- he had three goals and 11 points for the Canadiens in the 2017-18 campaign, but hadn't seen NHL ice since then prior to Saturday's game versus the Oilers. The center put up decent numbers in the minors, as he notched 21 goals and 23 assists in 70 appearances.
