  • Stars' Colin Miller: Deals assist in big win

Miller logged an assist in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Ducks. Miller has four assists in his last seven outings, and he's also logged at least one hit in each of those contests. The 30-year-old defenseman has seen a drop in his role with Joel Hanley taking over for Nils Lundkvist in the lineup -- the resulting shuffle has knocked Miller off the top pairing. Miller has a goal, five assists, 26 shots on net, 39 hits, 22 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a plus-13 rating in 23 appearances this season.

  • Stars' Colin Miller: Deals another helper

Miller notched an assist, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Blackhawks. Miller has a helper in three straight games, an achievement he didn't do at any time last season. He's been effective as a defensive presence for the Stars, picking up a goal, four assists, a plus-14 rating, 19 PIM, 23 shots on goal, 29 hits and 20 blocked shots in 19 outings. He should continue to be the more defensive half of a pairing with Miro Heiskanen.

  • Stars' Colin Miller: Assists in consecutive games

Miller logged an assist, five hits, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Avalanche. Miller has picked up an assist in each of his two appearances since sitting out a game as a healthy scratch. The 30-year-old defenseman now has four points in 18 contests. He's added 28 hits, 20 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a plus-12 rating as an effective defensive presence in his first year with the Stars.

  • Stars' Colin Miller: Returns to lineup with assist

Miller picked up an assist, two hits and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Islanders. Miller was scratched for Thursday's game versus the Panthers to reset after enduring a four-game point drought. He then returned to his usual role Saturday, playing primarily even-strength minutes and earning a helper on a Mason Marchment goal in the second period. Through 17 appearances, Miller has three points, 23 hits, 18 blocked shots, 19 PIM, 19 shots on net and a plus-10 rating. The lack of points won't make him attractive in fantasy, but his well-rounded game makes Miller an appealing option in some deeper formats.

  • Stars' Colin Miller: Nets first goal of season

Miller scored a goal on two shots, went plus-3, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Oilers. Miller gave the Stars a 2-0 lead with his second-period tally. It was his first goal with Dallas, just one game after he got his first point with his new club. The defenseman has added nine shots on net, 15 blocked shots, 10 hits, 17 PIM and a plus-7 rating while working mainly as a defensive presence. Since he doesn't score much, Miller's unlikely to be a serviceable option for most fantasy managers.

  • Stars' Colin Miller: Collects first point with new team

Miller registered an assist in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Coyotes. Miller began his Dallas career with 10 scoreless outings. He got out of the blocks Thursday, with Ty Dellandrea tipping his shot attempt in. In addition to the helper, Miller has seven shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 10 hits, 15 PIM and a plus-4 rating in 11 appearances this season. Given his lack of offense, he's not likely to be much of a factor in fantasy, though he probably won't be this cold all year, either.

Miller signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with the Stars on Wednesday. Miller will join the Stars to fill a similar role as he did with the Sabres last year. • Sabres' Colin Miller: Clears protocols

Miller has cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, but he'll need to log a few rehab skates before rejoining the team for practice, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. At this point it isn't clear when Miller, who's picked up 14 points through 36 contests this season, will be ready to rejoin the lineup. Once given the green light, look for Miller to slot into a bottom-four role.

He could return as early as Wednesday against Winnipeg, but he'll need to clear protocols first.

Miller provided an assist in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Canucks. Miller has played in two of the Sabres' three games since he returned from an undisclosed injury, though he's been limited to third-pairing minutes. The 29-year-old has 14 points, 45 shots on net, 44 hits, 39 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a minus-1 rating in 34 contests. While he's been decent on offense, he'll likely have to compete with Mark Pysyk and Mattias Samuelsson for playing time going forward.

  • Sabres' Colin Miller: Trending in right direction

Miller (undisclosed) might be available for Thursday's matchup with Vegas after coach Don Granato told reporters Wednesday, "There's a lot of guys really close, as close as tomorrow's lineup. If not tomorrow, then pretty darn close," John Vogl of The Athletic reports. If Miller does play Thursday, it would be his first time on the ice since Jan. 15 against the Red Wings, a stretch of 21 games on the shelf. Prior to his absence, the 29-year-old blueliner has generated 12 points in his previous 32 outings and should still have enough time to get over the 20-point threshold for the third time in his NHL career.

  • Sabres' Colin Miller: Skates with team

Miller (undisclosed) skated with the Sabres at practice Wednesday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Miller has been out since Jan. 17 due to an undisclosed injury which required surgery. The 29-year-old defenseman figures to need multiple practice sessions to get back up to speed. Considering the Sabres' poor position in the standings, Miller may be a trade target for teams looking to upgrade their defense if he can get healthy before the March 21 deadline.
