Josh Jooris: Lands three-year deal
Jooris agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Swiss club Lausanne on Friday.
Jooris was unable to crack the Maple Leafs' lineup this season, instead logging 74 games in the minors, in which he tallied just 15 points. It will be the first taste of European hockey for the 28-year-old and likely marks the end of his time in North America. The Ontario native registered 23 goals and 32 assists in 213 NHL appearances for Calgary, New York, Carolina and Pittsburgh.

Maple Leafs' Josh Jooris: Waived by Toronto
Jooris was placed on waivers by the Maple Leafs on Sunday.
Jooris inked a one-year deal with Toronto this offseason, but the Maple Leafs' forward depth is pretty strong heading into the 2018-19 campaign. The 28-year-old is one of the odd men out after scoring just three goals and six points in 40 games with Pittsburgh and Carolina last year.

Maple Leafs' Josh Jooris: Secures one-year deal with Maple Leafs
Jooris signed a one-year, $650,000 deal with Toronto, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Jooris scored three goals and six points with Carolina last season before being dealt to the Penguins, where he would be held scoreless in nine appearances. Toronto needed depth at center after Tyler Bozak signed with the Blues on Sunday. The 27-year-old won't have a big role with the Maple Leafs and shouldn't garner much fantasy attention.

Penguins' Josh Jooris: Shipped back to minors
Jooris was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday.
The move to send Jooris to play with the Baby Pens likely means that Carter Rowney (upper body) is healthy enough to play. The 27-year-old Jooris has been a scratch for all four postseason contests, so it shouldn't come as a surprise the team wants to get him some action in the minors.

Jooris was called up from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Jooris' recall doesn't bode well for Derick Brassard's (lower body) availability for Thursday's clash with the Devils. Even if Brassard can't play, the Pens could opt to insert Dominik Simon into the lineup instead of the 27-year-old Jooris. In his previous four outings with Pittsburgh, the Ontario native was held off the scoresheet -- unsurprising considering he averaged a mere 7:02 of ice time.

Jooris was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday.
Jooris played just two games in this NHL stint, averaging a mere 6:39 of ice time and failing to record any points, hits or blocked shots. Dominik Simon (lower body) will return to the lineup Friday, which is the reason for Jooris' demotion.

Penguins' Josh Jooris: Jumps up a rank
Jooris was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday.
Since the Penguins only had 11 healthy forwards, Jooris was recalled on an emergency basis to fill the void. Jooris played 31 games for the Hurricanes this season and posted three goals and three helpers, but he's been left off the scoresheet in two big-club games since being traded to Pittsburgh. However, that isn't too surprising since he averaged just 7:24 of ice time in those outings.

Penguins' Josh Jooris: Returned to minor-league affiliate
The Penguins assigned Jooris to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday.
Bryan Rust (concussion) is expected to return to the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, so Pittsburgh is no longer in need of Jooris' services as a depth forward. The 27-year-old pivot will return to the minors for the time being, but he could be back with the Penguins for their impending playoff run.

Jooris was called up from the AHL's Penguins on an emergency basis Thursday.
Jooris was traded from the Hurricanes to the Penguins in February and was then sent down to the AHL before playing a game with Pittsburgh. It's entirely possible he won't even draw into the lineup during his time with the big club, but even if he does, the fantasy potential here is limited. After scoring 12 goals as a rookie, the 27-year-old has failed to score more than four in a season.

Penguins' Josh Jooris: Acquired from Carolina
Jooris was brought in by Pittsburgh via trade with the Hurricanes in a swap for Greg McKegg on Monday.
Jooris was swapped in a one-for-one trade and was immediately reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The demotion could be temporary, as the Pens are no longer bound by the 23-man limit. An unrestricted free agent following the 2017-18 campaign, the 27-year-old is likely just an emergency rental in case Pittsburgh needs additional forward depth in its pursuit of a third straight Stanley Cup championship.

Jooris has spent the majority of 2017-18 with the Hurricanes, but that has resulted in only six points (three goals, three assists) and a minus-6 rating through 30 games. He will rejoin the top club after being waived and landing in with AHL Charlotte earlier this month, but nothing much has changed in regards to his lack of fantasy value in most formats.

This season, the center -- who has played in just 30 games -- has notched a paltry three goals and a trio of assists. If the 27-year-old clears, he will almost certainly be assigned to AHL Charlotte.

Hurricanes' Josh Jooris: Serving frequently as healthy scratch
Jooris has served as a healthy scratch for three of the past four games.
Jooris hasn't been a regular member of the Canes' lineup since early November when he played in seven consecutive games. Since then, he has managed to suit up just 17 times in 31 opportunities. The problem is, with the exception of Sebastian Aho (concussion), the Canes have a relatively healthy forward contingent at the moment, leaving little opportunity for Jooris to crack the lineup. Overall, his inability to score (six points in 30 games) and tendency to watch frequently from the press box make Jooris a player to avoid in all fantasy formats.

While it's nice to see him finally crack the scoresheet after an eight-game point drought, he's still a bottom-six player for the Canes who does not possess enough fantasy value to start in most formats.

Jooris skated a season-low 6:03 in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Islanders. He finished the game with four PIM, two shots on goal and a hit.
This wasn't a bad peripheral stat line for a guy who doesn't score much. The bad news is landing in the sin bin twice probably had a lot to do with him being nailed to the bench for pretty much the rest of the game. Jooris now has just four points in 13 games this season and doesn't warrant much fantasy consideration in most formats.

Jooris recorded two goals, four shots and a plus-1 rating through 9:51 of ice time during Thursday's 6-3 win over Toronto.
Jooris has bounced around the league as a depth forward the past four years. He's flashed offensive upside at the highest level but has never been given a legitimate opportunity in a scoring role. That's likely to remain the case this season, and Jooris can continue to be faded in the majority of fantasy settings moving forward.

Jooris played in just his second game of the season Thursday against Calgary, recording 12:34 of ice time on the fourth line.
After sitting out the Canes' first three games as a healthy scratch, Jooris has finally managed to see some regular time in the lineup. With that said, Carolina represents his fourth team in the past three years, and he's played fewer than 60 games per season over that span. With Lee Stempniak on the IR with a back injury to open the season, you can expect Jooris will likely return to the press box once Stempniak is cleared to play.
